Blue Iris 4 - Clips and Archiving question

This may have been asked and answered but I'm having trouble getting to the bottom of this: My goal is to have a BRIEF clip recorded upon motion activation via a hot-spot. EX: If someone passed by the camera it would begin to record for a predetermined mount of time and then stop. If they pass...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

fenderman, I am getting closer! I have several AvertX mini dome cams that are 1080P and have the ability to Zoom optically by a factor of 3X. They are not PTZ, just 'Z' only. I know there are thousands of cameras but if the AvertX is not listed as a PTZ cam in any of the menus can you think of a...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

Okay, this makes sense and now I see the info its looking for. Quick question: what user name and password is it looking for, relating to what? The PC password has already been bypassed (I believe) and within BI4 I have created a password only for the camera itself for now.

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

fenderman: I am trying to setup my Android App for BI4 with no luck" Unable to reach server". Am I supposed to be creating a separate connection for each camera and each cameras unique password... or am I supposed to be setting up some sort of general connection to the BI4 software via my LAN...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

fenderman: This worked! Many thanks. I am surprised that Microsoft did just create a checkbox to "remember this choice" within that window that pops up so that we don't have to go through such a lengthy process to get past it. I'm sure they have their reasons. Anyway, this appears to be a very...

Thank you. I will dig into it in the morning and will forget about trying to get it to startup with the startup folder.

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

Fenderman: I unchecked the choice for "Run as service" as you suggest and also changed to full screen, but I don't understand what there is the follow in the 'post above'. Are you referring to the one by WCrowder and the comment "you simply have to replace ccleaner with Blue Iris." I get my head...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

I now have Windows 10 setup where I have bypassed the login screen (as explained in the link above, thank you). I also added the BlueIrisAdmin.exe to my Startup folder as a shortcut but when I reboot the PC, while I do successfully bypass login, the BlueIris program does not open. I am taken...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

Hey Guys, I am new at this and have a have a quick question: I too was wondering how to get my BI4 to load automatically after a power failure but I think I found the answer right here. I am waiting on my new Dell Optiplex 9020 which will arrive on Monday. It comes with Win 7 Pro 64 bit and I am...

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

You're correct, there was a difference in the 2 units. I somehow missed that. He wrote back to me to state the following: The video card is integrated on the Haswell CPU which is the HD4600, comparable to AMD HD5770, pretty good. It has 2x Display Ports and 1x Blue VGA outputs. I will order...

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

Fenderman, I didn't see any reference to which graphic card was included. I hope I didn't buy the wrong machine. The specs were virtually the same as the one you linked me to other than more ram and more HD space. Here is what he provided for details: System specs: Wins 7 64bit Pro COA intact...

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

Fenderman. Thanks for this clarification. There is one thing regarding NVRs / IP Cam that I have always found curious: Why is it that some companies (like Axis and some others) charge a per-camera license fee of 50-100 bucks, yet BI does not have to abide by this same rule? What are those guys...

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

This gets me off to a good start. RAM is cheap enough these days so no big deal there. I did see that the second link you listed has 16 GB of RAM and 1TB drive. Is there any issue with running an NAS drive with BI?

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

Hey Fenderman: Many thanks for this incredibly speedy reply to my very first post. I was actually just looking at those but they are $850-950 on the Dell site. Glad to hear that BI is working well for you. I will check out the Dell outlet (as I have before) and see if something jumps out at me...

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

Hey guys, I am very new to this world of NVR, IP cams, etc. I have had plenty of old-school DRVs over the years but just made the switch and immediately got burned after buying a brand new AvertX 16 channel NVR only to learn that the features (or lack there of) absolutely suck! Here's one: Email...
