    Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

I found a firmware update and can confirm that it works. These are the same camera as a Uniview IPC_262ER9-X10DU. Mine had firmware from 2016, and I was able to upgrade to firmware from 12/2019. The latest firmware I could find is IPC_Q1201-B5029P12D1907. You can find firmware and release...

Network Gremlins - Need Some Help

The fact that all cameras attached to the 4 port switch go out together says it's the switch. To test, switch one or more cameras on the 4 port with cameras on the other switch. See if the new camera(s) start going out. You could also replace the switch and see. They're ridiculously cheap.

Can Blue Iris trigger a tcp command script?

The file ncat_11.bat has the following content: ncat 192.168.10.87 6722 <c:\users\.120\11.txt The file 11.txt has the following content: 11 Transmitting 11 to the relay at 192.168.10.87 at port 6722 turns the relay on. Turning the relay off requires the number 21 to be...

Can Blue Iris trigger a tcp command script?

Here is the tl;dr on controlling an SR-201 relay under the trigger or alerts tabs in Blue Iris. I set this up as a pre-alert action set under the triggers tab. but it could be an action taken on alert. There are three actions: Relay 1 On, Wait x time period, and Relay 1 Off. Here's the...

Can Blue Iris trigger a tcp command script?

jaydeel! Thanks very much for putting me on the right path. I'm going to have to write this up properly, but the approach of running a batch file on the trigger event was the winning concept. The batch file contains the ncat command, which references the text file that contains the actual...

Who here uses a Mac (all Apple devices in general), and why? Seriously...

My wife won't use anything but Apples. She says they're more intuitive. I used Macs for work as a tv editor in the 2010s. The rental houses carried nothing else. They were solid machines and the os was perhaps more reliable in the Windows Vista era. Anyway, everyone in Hollywood used them...

@ Mkiarie, re zosi camera -- If it isn't expensive, buy another and carefully disassemble the connection, making notes and photos. Put no 1 back together the same as no 2. Then you'll have 2 working cameras. You always need more cameras.

My first post and my tremendous confusion ... but I will get there.

"The only way to avoid China is to grow your own food and make your own clothing and furniture and build your house and don't drive a car and do not buy anything from anywhere." I like the impulse. Maybe we're in the path to reclaiming some of our lost production. Where I live there are a lot...

Whats the best affordable POE home surveillance system for me?

Many of us have had good experiences with Dahua brand cameras. I like the Color-4kts pretty well. If you have some ambient light, they provide a nice color image all night. Their in-camera motion detection is very good. I don't have any Hikvision experience, so no comment.

Can Blue Iris trigger a tcp command script?

I've been working on my triggers and alerts. First, I got Pushover notifications working with a curl script, then I got Shelly relays turning on my exterior lights when certain cameras trigger, via web requests (Thanks jaydeel and TonyR for the tutorials). I have a cheap Chinese relay, SR-201...

Mounting Hik DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 sideways against fence?

You could get a sheet of aluminum, carefully cut a circle to size with an angle grinder or tin snips, and attach to the fence with pipe hangers or hardware tape. Flat head machine screws on the camera side will keep it flush, and nylock nuts will keep it tight. Paint it to match the fence...

PC hardware for Blue Iris with lower noise

I have a bunch of HPs, and with them it depends on the HDD. Some are crunchier than others, but otherwise they're silent. I have one running 24/7 in the bedroom. You'd never know it was there. We recently had a long discussion of how to load W11 on older machines. If you can't find it...

My hp elitedesk g3 is silent, and it runs W11 just fine. Don't assume your present box won't run W11 just because Big Brother tells you so.

    Empiretech software?

For viewing cameras in my house, I use an Ubuntu app called cctv-viewer. There are others like it, including VLC, and a raspberry pi viewer I've seen here, but the name escapes me. These won't do you much good for viewing outside your house unless you setup a vpn with a remote desktop app...

    Blue Iris OS Options

To be fair, the guy in the vid was using a firewall-less setup typical of the time when WinXP was current. With a firewall blocking unsolicited entry into your system, the threat level is much lower. Still, it shows the attackers are relentlessly looking for a way into your system.

    Blue Iris OS Options

I dimly recall reading something about the tpm chip giving them some control or access to your computer. The upshot was that it was about security for MS, not the computer owner. I don't know if that was just wild talk, but it made me wary enough to install the non-tpm version of W11 even on...

    Blue Iris OS Options
