Be careful..if it is doing everything you want it to do you might want to leave it alone. Use the search icon in upper right area next to your name. Type in "firmware" and 4ks2e..

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Think I fried my Microseven mic. Had it on 80% with no noise filter, running at 13V. Supposed to be rated for 8-20V. It lasted about 4 hrs, then developed a hum & crackling sound with volume down about 1/2. Still works but think I'll get another one and run it at 40 %. It did it immediately at...

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Video with the Microseven mic from Amazon. Picks up high frequency sounds better than voice. My mail pickup box is about 150 ft away from the camera and mic. Camera set on 15fps.

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Almost got it finished. Did cable ends, had to solder the 12V wires for the separate IR light and mic. Didn't want to haul my generator out so I did the Darwin Redneck thing. Got a 12awg 2 wire piece and hooked my soldering iron plug to the wires I was soldering. Figured the 14AWG power cable...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E AI Varifocal Bullet

Try playing with the tripwire line length and target size. On a different Dahua camera I found sometimes the proportion of object to trip line size was a problem. Another time I had the minimum target size too big.

    Epoe trench 750ft long

So glad i dug the trench at least 6 inches deep. Mole found the trench easy digging..he just kept going for about 40 ft. Didn't damage the cable where it comes up near the pole. They dig right on the surface of the ground.

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Working on my camera enclosure. Bought a $13 PVC mailbox from Amazon, cut the bottom tabs off. The B5442 Z4 camera will fit all the way to the back, and at full wide angle the edges still don't show. Not planning to use the camera's IR so it won't reflect back. Don't want to be wiping...

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Sheeeit..that's a good idea. I've already installed 2 wire direct burial 14AWG and bought a cheap variable 12 to 24V power adapter at 2.5 A. Not planning to use anything but a 15 LED IR light and a mic, but if I had to ever upgrade that would be a big help. I have bought those DROK boards in...

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Working on cable ends. Furthest cable out checked good. I connected like colors together at the far end. At the house I used an ohmmeter to check which cable was connected. So green-greenwhite etc showed 35 oms between pairs, with no resistance to another color. I'll label it far gate...

    Dahua NVR Push Notifications

Didn't want to make a new post. Search menu won't produce Gdmss delays..just brings up GDMSS. My question - is it normal for GDMSS push notifications for IVS alarms to have a 5-10 minute delay? Got a Samsung J3 Mission phone.

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Installed 2" PVC pipe in floor for 6 cables. Overkill but never know when I want to add more cables. Used a hole cutter this time. Sprayed water with a plant mister while cutting since it smoked some. You really have to be careful when doing this. Sawdust, carpet underlay etc should be...

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Put PVC water pipe up the gate post for protecting cabling. Twisted the ends on the furthest ethernet cable so I could identify it back at the house (from 5 other cables). Temporarily protecting finished 12VDC ends til everything is settled. Yeah, should have had a turned down end but just...

    Epoe trench 750ft long

Finally finished filling the trench and cutting the grass with a push mower. In the pic, that long thin line along the drive is the trench. Tomorrow will put 1" PVC up the side of the gate post and start working on the connection at the house.

    Epoe trench 750ft long

10 AWG, even 12AWG 1000ft rolls were too expensive for me. Since I only needed about 2-3 amps, opted for using a variable power adapter to get 12V at the end.

    Annoying ip camera password

With my Dahua camera I did use config tool..with laptop connected directly to NVR. I selected that particular camera and used the left sidebar menu (with the arrow) to change the password. Then it stayed. Don't know if it works for other brand cameras.

Andy - do you have an older 3.215 version of firmware for the NVR5216-16P-4ks2. Looking for a 3.215 version. I have the 3.210.0002.2 version.

    New low light camera

I've been getting the JC Infrared lights (JCheng) on Amazon. On some cameras I do the same, keep them inside. Heavy curtains help to keep inside room light from washing out camera picture. I place the IR light in the neighboring window in same room. No spider or bug problems, just glare when...

does not support configuration search and modification AGAIN

    1. You mean on the NVR directly go thru each camera and clear the IVS rules? The IVS doesn't save any changes on the NVR..which is the main problem. I took one camera and factory reset it, but that's the main issue..on the camera interface not getting the alarm out and buzzer menus showing...

does not support configuration search and modification AGAIN

Tried that with laptop hooked to router, and NVR thru a Netgear powerline adapter. Same thing with IVS..doesn't want to accept changes. Neither on an older camera 4233C-A or newer 5442-Z4

does not support configuration search and modification AGAIN

I just pulled the NVR up using the Web interface on internet explorer 192.168.1.108:8080. Yep, the alarm out, buzzer, etc shows up on that one for each camera. Just forgot on the laptop that I was wireless..doesn't react fast. Will hook directly tommorow w cable. Only thing the alarm out...

does not support configuration search and modification AGAIN

Was using the config tool with it's crappy various dates of plug ins to make changes directly to cameras. Biggest issue is I want to enable the alarm out (NO) or NVR buzzer for each camera, and the two menu blocks don't show up on the camera config tool. Shows up on the NVR but you get that...
