New firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea NTSC and PAL 20180330

Thanks Andy, just given the PAL version a go on one of my 5231R-Zs now, one thing I did notice that the autoupgrade feature didn't seem to be working as when I did a manual check it showed that the currently installed September 2017 firmware was the most up to date. I'd had issues with the...

    PTZ1A225U-IRA-N 2MP 25x Starlight

What is your ambient temperature? It's been around 21c here in the UK where we are today and the camera shows around 41c - don't worry about it if the fan is working and the camera isn't crashing then it should be stable.

    PTZ1A225U-IRA-N 2MP 25x Starlight

I think the power brick is ok this time but it's the physical connection - if it was the power brick it would always make the noise. Glad I won't be using that for too long though :) My memory cards have arrived for this camera and the new 5231 that came as well to replace the 4421 outside :)

    PTZ1A225U-IRA-N 2MP 25x Starlight

There was nothing at all and everything seemed fine - just the noise in the video. Saying that I appear to have actually fixed it the most bizarre way. As I say it's powered using the included power brick - I just unplugged the ethernet cable to see if that changed the noise (which it didn't)...

    PTZ1A225U-IRA-N 2MP 25x Starlight

Mine arrived yesterday thanks to @EMPIRETECANDY :) I've currently got it soak testing and everything seems to work fine, but there's a chirping noise every other second coming from the camera. I'm currently powering via the included adaptor, and I've bought a D-Link POE+ switch to try tomorrow...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

OK I just fired up the PTZ1A225U and it does have very similar firmware to the latest 59225, it just has a slightly older PTZ firmware installed than the latest 59225: PTZ1A225U-IRA-N out of box System Version2.622.0000000.1.R, Build Date: 2017-11-21 PTZ...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

My PTZ is used for a similar reason - to get better facial grabs from outside the house (we're having a bit of a crime spree due to police cuts meaning the criminals are having a free reign lately) and to catch which cats are pooing everywhere over the front of our house :o Ironically the ones...

Are any of you seeing random issues where the camera doesn't return back to the correct home position please? It's happened twice in a week here - the first time it suddenly thought home was slightly higher than before and a reboot sorted it and this time it suddenly was pointing further to the...

    Dahua 3mp starlights

I have the Hikvision 3MP Darkfighter class DS-2CD2335FWD-I which I've been extremely happy with which like you say gives the 4:3 view - I may have to grab one of these 3Mp cameras when the turret arrives as these seem to be a step up over the HK. I've never looked to see which sensor is in this...

Hi Andy, how are you? Does that mean you're ready for the rest of my payment now too?

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Very likely - in my view I have the windscreen of my car and the camera quite often sits tracking motion of the clouds on windy days as it thinks the contrast is objects moving (and technically it is!) Like you say lots of trial and error with these things!

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Well it's a very random way of approaching it but I've sorted the problems with the noise of the PTZ in action transferring through to my house by using 2 rubber washers on each of the 4 screws (one either side of the metal washer) and then using a 2mm sheet of Silent Coat noise dampening...

    PoE driver. Not enough voltage?

Ubiquiti POE is 24v whereas standard PoE which the 5231 wants is 48v - those Ubiquiti 24v injectors are designed for their network kit which doesn't use standard PoE (although the higher end stuff does support 802.3af).

    PTZ1A225U-IRA-N 2MP 25x Starlight

Have you logged into the camera on the default IP first to change the password (required on the latest firmwares)?

Oh it's not smoke from the camera - it's from next doors heating and the wind just blew it in front of the camera.

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

This is the camera that keeps on giving - yesterday it got full high res video of a drug deal going on right outside the house at an angle my fixed cameras don't cover. Amazingly these idiots do this in full daylight directly opposite a policeman's home. Go figure. However it's not all good -...

    How to obtain Warranty Service

If you can't see them labelled I'd be going for bridging the two small copper ports near your wedding ring in that second pic. In the first pic you can see what I'm guessing are the UART pins near the yellow foam padding - you can't tell from the pics but may be worth a look around there too...

    How to obtain Warranty Service

Looking at that pic the contacts are most likely on the board which the lens and sensor module are attached to so the top board. The pins will be labelled 1 and 2 on there.

    How to obtain Warranty Service

It's not in those two pics - can you get a picture of the backside of the board in the second pic please? If it's not there you may need to pop the top PCB off and then get to the lower one in the picture.

    How to obtain Warranty Service

Already answered but yes - I just used the PoE source and the reset worked fine that way :) If you're near the switch / hub or whatever you're connecting to it should be easy to see if the link light comes up too Good luck!

    Blue Iris UI3

That's reminded me to do the same - I've just sent you some beer money too (or whatever your vice is). Thanks again bp2008 :)

    How to obtain Warranty Service

The neighbours had a 4431 turret that played up after it had been installed for a while - we had to strip it and put a paperclip between pins 1 & 2 on the PCB for a minute or so - it may be worth trying that here too if there is no reset switch. Once that was done it came back up with default...

    Dahua HDW5231R-Z failing SD-cards

What firmware version are you on? I had issues with the latest firmware and once I rolled back a version everything was back to normal with the microSD card behaviour. I always test any new card with h2testw before putting it near a camera: H2testw It will write data to the card until it's...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Ah sorry yes it's silent when still (just the fan running which you can't hear when it's outside), just when moving it's quite loud and that's the noise which transfers into the house :) Basically in the UK it's a layer of exterior decorative stone then a layer of polystyrene beads in the...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I've got a silly question for the guys who have been running this camera for a while now - have any of you reduced the noise transmitted into the house by any other means than slowing the camera down please? I'm finding the noise in our brick built house in the UK transfers quite easily through...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

For the blip - are you recording locally to a microSD card or is that all off host via NFS or just direct into Blue Iris? Ideally you could do with a fast enough card in the camera for recording to see if that shows the same, and if not you know it's potentially something at the network level...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I've got to admit I'm still trying to work that bit out - currently I've got the minimum target size like this: I've been away from home since Sunday so looking forwards to having a good play over the next few days. I'd swear it still triggers from things smaller than the minimum target but...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Here are a few clips from mine so far: Auto tracking works pretty good in the first and second clips, but in the third the two guys seemed to be just on the outskirts of the tripwires so they didn't trigger until they left. I was seeing frame dropping as I am recording everything to...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I initially tried quite a complex set of tripwire rules and for now have gone to a more simple intrusion box with a minimum size to try and ignore cats etc walking about. So far I'm happy and it caught two guys attempting to break in to next door already. Lots of tweaking with these I guess...
