YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Indeed. I haven't opened mine yet as it was in focus out of the box but I would not be entirely surprised if it has a jtag or uart port exposed. And in any case the microcontroller must have those pins (according to the datasheet it has 3 UARTS, doesn't mention jtag though) so with a bit of...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

You mean the version I uploaded here? I have no reason to doubt that it is for the SD-M5.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Which version did you have before and which do you have now? I received an email from Gwelltime with a new firmware version 13.1.1.34 but I haven't tested it yet. Here's the email: In my experience once the fps drops to 5 it never goes back up, even if there is significant movement. I think...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Might be a good idea to compare firmware versions. Mine are at 13.1.1.32 according to IPCTestTool. Incidentally, I get the impression that BI when playing back recorded clips is using the camera's current fps to determine playback speed. So if the clip was recorded at 15 fps but the camera's...

False motion detection due to rain at night

No experience whatsoever but I would guess that using external IR (or visible light) coming from the side instead of using the cam's internal IR might help with this,

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

It's dusk and both cams are now at 5fps. I just let BI re-connect to the cam by entering Cam settings... making no changes and clicking OK and now that cam is back at 15 fps.

Smallest budget smartphone that will work with Blue Iris app and UI3

I have been able to put off getting a smartphone for a very long time but now I'm looking for a small inexpensive Android phone that will work well to view BI remotely either the app or UI3. Any recommendations? I've been looking at these: Nokia 2.2 (only 2GB RAM) Nokia 5.1 Samsung Galaxy A10...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I have a night time clip that I downloaded from here (don't know the post #, but it was from CInnman) which says 30 fps (and looks like it too). Looks much better than what I'm getting at night but mine stays in color, the clip I'm referring to is b&w.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I just went to Camera settings... for the 5 fps one, didn't change anything and clicked OK. BI reconnected and it's now back at 15fps.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I have two of these, one at the front and one at the back. Restarted the connection from BI a few hours ago (around noon) and they were both at 15fps until at least 2pm. I just checked again and the one at the front, which is in the shades, has now dropped to 5fps. The other one is still at 15fps.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I'm not physically disconnecting the cam but I see the following: if I allow it to connect to the Internet it will acquire and display the correct timestamp. If I then block it from connecting to the Internet it keeps the correct timestamp for quite a while but after a while it resets back to...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Earlier I said "I haven't noticed fps dropping. " but I'll need to look into that closer because I do get the impression that at least the fps is not constant. Seems to me that it drops when it gets dark. It stays in color more all night I think so it's probably increasing exposure time and...

Video display in Motion sensor configuration dialog not updating

No replies after 4 days and 38 views? I would think that every BI user must know the answer to this and there must be plenty of those on this forum. Anyone?

Here's a snapshot of a direct comparison between the YooSee MD-5 doorbell and a Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-AS (mini wedge dome): The license plate is roughly at 6.5m / 21ft 4 inches and is 11 cm / 4.3 inches heigh. Both are using the default settings. I did not adjust/correct the focus of the...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

It seems to accept absolutely anything: any username, any password, including blank for both. There's a 'Has password' column in IPCTestTool which clearly shows whether a password has been set (through the app) or not. As long as that column is empty instead of showing 有 ('Have') the above...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I tried the USB chime today, was able to pair it without problem. I had hoped (but did not expect) that the signal would go from the groundlevel to two floors up but no such luck. No real surprise as it has to travel through two thick reinforced concrete floors. By the way the only ringing...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I don't have a smartphone so mine is running with whatever the defaults are and just with the rtsp stream going to BI or CMS Client or VLC (or all three) but I haven't noticed fps dropping.

That's great. Would you mind sharing the exact model number and a link where you purchased the RX-Multi RF module? I found something through Google but I'm not sure it's the exact same thing (although it probably doesn't matter). What do you mean by external url, that of the cloudserver/p2p...

Video display in Motion sensor configuration dialog not updating

I installed BI a few days ago and I seem to remember that initially the little video display was showing a live stream. At the moment it's showing a still picture only. Am I remembering incorrectly or is there something wrong?

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Could it be that this option somehow allows you to produce a firmware update image file containing a pre-defined username and password? Then you could take that and update the firmware of the device. Just guessing wildly here.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Without setting a password it will also accept rtsp:/admin:123@192.168.178.38:554/onvif1 but it clearly knows this is the default password and not one set by the user. I just ran CMSClient on another PC and this time it found one of my two YooSee doorbells (got one in black and one in white)...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Funny thing is, I can get it to display in VLC with just this: rtsp:/your-IP:554/onvif1 so without a username or password. Maybe that only works if you haven't set a password yet. If you haven't done so yet you might want to download the ONVIF Device Manager software.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

That makes sense given the entry above it (Check for updates). I wonder then where the option to set the password is hidden, if it's really there.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Thank you. It's 有 and it means 'have'. The strangest thing happened yesterday: whenever I start the CMSClient software and try to obtain the IP config it always comes back with 'password error' but one time, and one time, it suddenly did return the IP config and I was also able to click the...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Has anyone tried to set the YooSee RTSP/admin password without using their app? I finally have some time to install this thing but, believe it or not, I don't have a smartphone (by choice). Here's what I tried: Run the YooSee app under BlueStacks android emulator (also tried MEmu) Doesn't...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

A possible solution in general for your situation might be to put the camera in IR mode all the time and make sure there's enough IR light coming from either the camera itself or some auxiliary IR light to compensate for the backlight situation. Of course that requires at least that the camera...
