Choppy video with the IE active X

Yes @nayr, you are right. The machine without stuttering is a completely different rig than the one used for LAN testing. Not sure that I will be able to relocate the LAN test machine to another network to verify this myself. I don't have a mobile windows machine (laptop or tablet) to test any...

Choppy video with the IE active X

I too am running IE 11 with the BI Active X version 4.0.0.4. I thought it might be the network but I don't think it is based on results I can see on my BI machine with outgoing data and my Internet upload speed. I also have pinned it down to a problem with Active X while on the same LAN as my BI...

    Another BREAK time question

It is highly encouraged around here to use the BVR format with Direct to Disc. This gives the best performance and can be later exported in another format if ever the need may arise. And yes, I would be you have a CODEC problem. You can always try the K-Lite codec if you want to see if this...

    Raspbery Pi2 Camera Monitor w/Rpisurv

I noticed that you said you had H264 on the camera, but your uri path ends with 265. Is that last digit the encode profile you are requesting hence the problem?

What version of BI are you on? It looks to be behind a number of updates with the screen image you have provided. Also, post a capture of your record tab for us to look at.

    $69 motorized varifocal 4x (2.8mm-12mm) Longse

Are these being sent to you via DHL @klasipca ? I am about ready to order some additional cams but really excited to see how these two do for you.

    Raspbery Pi2 Camera Monitor w/Rpisurv

My bad! I didn't think it would take your system down like that. Maybe I can try to get the streams from my BI server to the Pi so it is only one stream and gives me the option to use the tvservice call?

Stand alone NVR or PC Based NVR - What are your favs?

Man that Synology is really getting up there in price. Yes, it appears to include the camera licenses, but still, no disk. You can easily get a computer for between $350 and $500 that can handle 8 cameras and then some. Throw on Blue Iris for another $60 and be done with it. Or get a brand...

    Raspbery Pi2 Camera Monitor w/Rpisurv

Looks great @nayr. Did you have something that is putting the monitor to sleep during times of the day or for instance when you arm your system? Or are you still relying on the power button for that? I want to do this with my Pi and monitor in the kitchen but want it to go to sleep on its own at...

Choppy video with the IE active X

Interesting... I have the same problem with my remote access to BI through a browser (and @bp2008 UI2). Never thought about it not being normal as it has always been like this for me. I always thought that I was hitting the ceiling for my upload speed (6Mbps for me) but then I tried it on...

    Default file location

Sounds like you have not properly added your folders to the BI Settings > Clips and Archiving. You need to configure Aux1, Aux2, Aux3, etc to be used for your path to folders. Once these have been configured then the camera properties will display the newly configured Aux# in the drop downs. I...

    Default file location

Yes, you can do this. Setup in BI Settings > Clips & Archiving your desired folders. Then for each camera goto Properties > Record > Profile and set the appropriate folder.

What would cause BI to do this?

The choppiness of your cams seems odd to me. At 20 fps you should be getting butter smooth video. Have you compared the BI stream to a live stream from the camera web interface to see if the live view is showing the choppiness too? I hope Ken is able to help you out here and resolve this problem.

    Camera Groups/User Security

You first have to add the group to the camera from the camera properties. Then you can edit the users to limit to a group in the BI Settings > Users > Edit > Limit to Camera Groups

    Didn't send us plug

Generally speaking, the label on the cord itself is the max safe current and amps that it was tested and passed for. The nvr power supply should regulate what it needs assuming the plug end fits the power supply. Just make sure you are not mixing a 120v and 240v power supply with power supplied...

    camera picture quality question

I agree that you are getting IR reflection from down spout. If you look at first image of thread you can clearly see the gutter in bottom left of image. I didn't notice it before but with your latest pics it is very clear what is happening. You are going to have to move it if you want a clearer...

    Foscam Calling Home

I was implying a stateful inspecting firewall vs a firewall that is simply trying to follow NAT tables when packets start flying. Your article suggested these IoT devices are able to open up the firewall ports and allow themselves out of your network. I guess I was thinking that these devices...

    Foscam Calling Home

@nayr can you recommend a good firewall to install to prevent the "phone home" IoT a lot of us have installed these days? I have a router that does NATing, but really leaves a lot to be desired for packet inspection and reporting in the logs. Thanks.

Frequently stuttering and clip write error

Perhaps it is the camera but you said the live stream when viewing the camera direct isn't having any problems with the stuttering. Would be strange to have a problem with BI feed and not the native feed and still call it the cameras fault. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

So being that low to the ground, aren't you risking it being covered on days where there is any measurable amounts of snow? Or not a big deal if a couple days a year you can't use it?
