    No Email Notification

My email notifications have also stopped. Am using a gmail account with OAUTH setup, when I do a test it works but with BI even though I can see in the logs that an alert was triggered and an email was sent I get nothing. Not too sure how to debug this as it was all working but then stopped a...

Problema con Dahua ptz ip, ma non conosco il nome del difetto, aiuto, grazie

The only thing that might be worth checking is the power requirement for the cam and what your switch can supply? Only thing I can think of if it’s happening during the day

Problema con Dahua ptz ip, ma non conosco il nome del difetto, aiuto, grazie

Is that happening during a transition period from say day to night or night to day? Something very similar happens to one of my cams at these times where the camera hunts between switching between day/night settings and can’t quite make its mind up. If this is the issue then you can get around...

Is this okay for Blue Iris.

What are prices like for an 8th gen, I always regarded that as a sweet spot last year as I think I’m still correct in stating that it is W11 compatible if you need to or are force to do so.

IP cameras given to me. Should I use them?

A POE switch, network cables and a laptop/PC, this should allow you to set the cams up and determine if they are working. Once you’ve established that they work fine you can then take it from there as to what you want to do.

    Profiles and Schedules

Just in case it helps others, I managed to get this working by editing the schedules in each cam in the end. As mentioned above for some reason I had assumed that when a profile is greyed out it was active and it was this mistake that was stopping it all from working. I now have emails being...

    Profiles and Schedules

As I said brain fart moment, just realised then when I grey out the profile within the cam settings I'm actually disabling it so ignore my EDIT2, DOH! I still don't understand why within the global schedules tab, if I select Profile 3 which I've renamed to Night it still shows all green with...

    Profiles and Schedules

Having a bit of a brain fart moment and can't quite get my head around this. For my 2 main driveway cams I'd like to send email alerts but only say between the hours of 10pm and 7:30am, all other settings I want left as they are just want emails during these hours. I selected Profile 3 and...

Updating to BI 5 - thoughts on current gear

My BI PC has the same CPU and I run 3 4Mp and 6 2Mp cams with substreams no issues. The only thing I would recommend and is something I had to do was upgrade the RAM to 16Gb, with 8Gb although when running it was fine when accessing the desktop itself via RDP I noticed it was sluggish which...

Your idea about future of CCTV

The time may come back but without NTP the clock in all my Dahua cameras does drift by quite a lot so the built in clock should be more accurate.

Memory leak with Blue Iris - persisted through fresh install of windows and Blue Iris

Try disabling hardware acceleration on all the cams to try and eliminate that as a possible cause?

Windows 11 Ethernet port won't stay enabled

Just to add I run my BI system with 2 NICs. My home network is on 192.168.0.x so I have 1 configured with 192.168.0.30 and the other NIC I have configured as 192.168.1.x and all my cams are on this 2n subnet. In both case the net mask is 255.255.255.0. My 1st NIC is plugged into my home network...

Windows 11 Ethernet port won't stay enabled

in your example you’d need to put one of the NICs on a separate subnet so 10.10.11.x If you do configure them as above then windows will disable 1 NIC as it will detect that it can get to the same network via either and should keep the NIC that offers the best route active.

How long is normal to set up new discs as spanned drives?

Won’t recovering dynamic drives be difficult if say 1 drive goes down? id personally leave then as normal drives with individual drive letters. You can then set BI to write some cams to one and some to the other?

automatic resolution & framerate downgrade if footage is older than some threshhold

And add even more hardware if the clips have been saved in h265 format. I recently edited some h265 footage from a dash cam, 2 2 minute clips which I joined, trimmed and converted to mp4, let’s just say it wasn’t instant.

HP/Aruba Managed Switch firmware... or not...

Maybe there are diff iterations/revisions? Mine is in my loft and in the dead of night during summer when the fans would ramp up their speed I could hear them which is why I 'modded' them. I've just download the latest for my switch just now which I've attached, just rename it taking away the...

HP/Aruba Managed Switch firmware... or not...

I love how the docs state silent fan, mine was too noisy in the summer months so I added 28ohm resistors in series with each fan to take away the whiney top edge fan noise. I’ve just checked and I have copies of YA_16_06_0006 and YA_16_10_0021 firmware files
