Dahua (OEM) Firmware list
I'm trying to find a firmware for an older recorder - DHI-DVR5104H-V2 - I tried the above firmware but it keeps saying "sending update error". The box reboots and it fails to update. :( Am i doing something wrong or is the firmware not the right one for my recorder? -

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here
You have to go to the nvr using monitor, factory default it, upgrade the firmware reset the ip and configure. That should get you back up and running. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk -

I noticed the same with my cameras that just arrived. Only thing i did was open them to install and sd card. Not sure it that caused something or if there is a fault with the cameras. Might try and open them up tomorrow and check the fitting -

Well it depends on your interest speeds and router power. Last time I tried openvpn it was soo dog slow I couldn't even stream a low bit rate Mp3 so I doubt video would have ever had worked. Not tried it on my new router but worth a shot. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk- Jagradang

NVR vs BI
I'm not sure about us but in the UK the price difference is considerable between bi and nvr. An nvr works out under £200 without hdd whereas its about £450 for pc, £100 for poe then £70 for bi. (again not including HDD for recording). So around 3 times the price. For a small setup I'm not sure...- Jagradang

Thank you for the replies. I do really want the blue iris setup but it will work out to atleast 3 times the price. Nvr without hdd is around 150gbp, blue iris will be 400gbp pc + 130 for poe switch but 70 for blue iris (without hdd) so around 600gbp So in comparison it's alot more pricier... -
