    Another NVR vs BI question

Doing a hard shut off your windows machine frequently and not cause corruption is kind of hard to believe for me. I googled the definition of Data Corruption "Data corruption refers to errors in computerdata that occur during writing, reading, storage, transmission, or processing, which...

    Another NVR vs BI question

I love BI but I'd go with an NVR if it was me... Much lower chance of corruption and it not restarting Other thing is maybe you can put sd cards in the cameras as a backup

Opinion on PC for Blue Iris

I have an elite desk right now that's an i5 .I think it's a 4 or 3rd gen with an SSD. You think an external USB 3.0 would be fast enough? I wouldn't see why not for clips

Opinion on PC for Blue Iris

Still fiddling with blue iris. How do you seprate the database and the actual video recordings. I have an ssd but no room in the case for a 3.5 drive until I build a new pc or buy one. I will have to use an external drive that I have laying around to have space for the clips

CES 2019 - Plethora of new Video Doorbells

Dark current, exactly hikvision and dahua tried but their cameras seem to be too buggy and I don't want to depend on wireless

    Seriously looking at BI

I've always used nvrs .I've used generic ones, hikvision and dahua. Blue Iris takes a bit more work but the mobile app is awesome and lots more features.

CES 2019 - Plethora of new Video Doorbells

I'd rather just have a poe enabled camera that doesn't require cloud storage. If it has the option thats great but doesn't require it in my book

Ubiquti Cameras Vs Blue Iris System

Run away from the ubiquiti. Only thing they have going for them is ease of use and you can do that with Blue Iris. We have over 50 installed here at work of the unifi cameras and they suck.

    Purchase BlueIris

Totally safe. I bought it recently, never used it except a demo . Works awesome with my hikvision oem cameras.
