    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

What is the correct setting for BI to recognize this camera? Would it be Dahua/Main Stream RSTP or something else?

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I have 2 of these. 8 POE ports at 15.4 W or 4 ports with POE+ and a separate GigE uplink port. No fan so no noise. With the separate uplink port I don't waste a POE port for uplink. Amazon.com: Linkskey 9-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet with 8-port PoE Switch (LKS-SG9P8): Computers &...

    Recommend BI camera

My current BI system has cameras that I got from an old QSee installation. They are HD cameras and ok. I want to add a few more cameras. They need to run at least HD (1920x1080 @ 30), be weather resistant, have some IR vision, be powered by POE, have a web interface to set them up, ability to...

    BI performance and tune up

I have some questions on BI. First it is running on a Dell XPS with Intel I7-4790 @3.6 GHz and 8G of memory, 64-bit Windows 10. BI is version 4.3.9.2 X64. I have 8 Qsee cameras set up as Dahua Main Stream RTSP. The cameras have been set to 10 FPS. The main issue I have is that during the day...

Nevermind, /r/n does the trick, albeit with some funky formatting issues.

    new line in macro

Is there a way to insert a new line in a macro? either in the text that's read in or on one of the 9 macro lines? I tried adding /n but it just printed /n. I like to be able to construct multi-line macros for video overlays. Thanks.

New to BI - hardware and some Q's

Fenderman - you mentioned recording to second drive. I will have the 1TB system drive and a second 6TB drive for data. I'd like to put most of the video stuff on the second drive. It appears I can set the path in the camera record tab. Downsides? Or would it better to just install BI on the...

New to BI - hardware and some Q's

Thansks Stealth22 for the tip. I checked the switch - it's a Linksys LKS-SG9P8 and the specs say the POE has a budget of a bit over 120 watts for 15W/channel. Says it can also do POE+ on up to 4 channels. The camera label says 6W max so I should be fine. Once I get things going I'll look at the...

New to BI - hardware and some Q's

Hey - thanks for the info. So I didn't need the Nvidia graphics card as suggested in the hardware list? Or is the onboard graphics enabled at the same time (which won't work of course) WD Purple - I guess I can use either the standard purple or the NV - which is better? The POE switch will...

New to BI - hardware and some Q's

Hi. I'm going to be a new user of BI. I currently have a Qsee 8 channel system with 8 HD cameras (QCN8004B) and am running it at full 1080P recording at 30fps. I can get about 3.5 days of recording. I'm not happy with Qsee and want to replace it. I have a Dell XPS 8700 with I7 processor and...
