    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

Well I’m going to hang the thing tomorrow on a pole. I guess I’ll see how it looks soon.

Permanently Disable p2p protocol in DAHUA devices using API

Always better to block the cameras at the router for any outgoing communications. No telling how many back doors these have in them and those won’t be documented.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

Yeah the newest FW for the 4K-X appears to be from Dec of 2023 from Andy’s site. And, yes, both the old ‘21 fw and the newest ‘23 fw are still running on the old GUI.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

Well shit. I just bought a 4K-x to mount it 30’ high on a pole overlooking my business parking lot at 50’+. Noticed it had 2021 fw on it and just updated it to the latest version. It will be providing overview with a ptz providing tracking at night on targets in the lot. I didn’t realize the...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.9.0

Spun up 2.9.0 in Docker on a Debian machine. Man that was easy. For you guys having trouble with the full installs, you have to give Docker a try. So much easier to deploy and upgrade stuff like this.

Is there any point to using AI with BI?

I like AI in the camera. Never had much luck with the BI AI solutions. I’d rather let the camera to it as it way easier to setup

    Capabilities of PTZ Cameras

@EMPIRETECANDY will ship directly to you. Generally his direct prices are a bit cheaper and include shipping vs buying from his Amazon store. Send him a DM here and he will respond. I’ve bought 20+ cams from him over the years. He is a stand up guy. Whatever you decide, go with a Dahua over the...

    Capabilities of PTZ Cameras

So just going by pros/cons you listed in the OP, the Dahua is a no brainer. Also, the Dahua is going to have far better light collecting ability at night with a 4MP 1/2.8 sensor vs the Relolink 8MP 1/2.8 sensor. And, what is $200 extra in the grand scheme of things? Also, don’t even compare 4 vs...

    Empiretech PTZ4K45X-AI settings

Late to the party here on this one. Is there any way to activate lights when it’s auto tracking and zooming and then have them turn off when tracking is complete?

I Ordered an Axis Communications Axis Q1808-LE Camera

Is the cam placement designed to get people walking or plates? As far as I can tell, the placement is bad for both. It’s at a 90 degree angle to the road so plates will be impossible. It’s also not zoomed in close enough to capture faces…

Was looking into mini computer for a new Blue iris build. Thoughts on this

Small form factor, quiet, easy to work on, runs cool, etc.. They are great little devices. Perfect for my father who keeps it tucked away in his home theater console. He only has 4 cams around the house so a 2TB or 4TB SSD will get weeks/months of recordings. Heat isn't a factor for this...

    Starlink - anyone have it?

I know you asked about Starlink as a backup but I use a Peplink Balance 20x router and it has dual SIM cards. Comcast is my main ISP and I have the $15/month TMobile 30GB hotspot plan as backup. The router will automatically failover to TMobile when it senses Comcast is out. You could add...

    Becoming a Cop?

I would never have the patience to deal with the scum of society. Everything is filmed nowadays and if you do anything borderline (whether justified or not), it's your ass. God bless the ones that do it though. We would be screwed without them.

Do any IP cameras stream only when motion is detected?

Have the cameras send motion activated clips to your NAS. Setup SMB or FTP on your NAS and then input the NAS address in the appropriate area of the camera to send clips to the server.

Do any IP cameras stream only when motion is detected?

If the camera can do the motion detection then you could set it up so it writes the video over the internet to your NAS remotely only when motion is detected. Other than that, your choice is to buy another NAS and install it in your summer home. Then remote in to view clips on that nas from...

    Ubiquiti Networks Cloud Gateway Ultra

Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

I'm having issues getting IVS to work on both streams with this cam. IVS works perfectly fine on Steam 1. It triggers and sends ONVIF events to BI with no issue.. However, on Steam 2, IVS doesn't work at all. Even on the liveview of the cam using IE and the old plugin, Steam 2 doesn't even...
