Lightning murdered my cam
Anything mounted in a tree or flag pole or whatever sticking up into the air above other structures needs to be ran with fiber. Conduit at the base of the tree with power/nema enclosure can power the fiber transceivers and the camera itself.- biggen

What are the amp hour capacity of the batteries? You can determine runtime pretty quickly with that and known power consumption. Off grid camera system on solar can be done pretty easily without WiFi. It’s when you add wifi radio and a switch to power the wifi/camera that things start getting...- biggen

If you are using your own router/switch then it doesn't matter. The cable modem is just a dumb OSI layer 1 and 2 device that is just passing internet traffic. It has no concept of VLANS if you are running a router behind it as your router handles all of that. Now if you are using their modem...- biggen

If remote management is a sticking point, then used server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro) is going to be pretty much all you will be able to get. I’ve been running Proxmox for years off just consumer gear. BI runs great in a win 10 VM with only 6GB of RAM on Proxmox. -

My Generac 24kW states in the manual if running continuously in ambient air at 85F, change the oil and filter every 100 hours. I’d do it at 100 hours regardless of the ambient temp like you say. It’s easy to do. The cost on a 30kW liquid cooled Kohler is gonna be big. Probably pushing... -

What do you pay per kWh? If you have more than 100w there I'd be surprised. Those cams use about 6w when they aren’t running IR. The DVR might use 50w.- biggen

So are you wanting the transfer switch to wait longer before going to gen power? In the dealer menu you can configure that settings. Mine came with a 30 second delay which I thought was too long so I adjusted it to 5 seconds. We don't experience any brownouts here so a 5 second delay is fine... -
