My WD Purple HDD is too big for my AIO Dell OptiPlex 7460

Or strip the Dell guts out and put them in an aftermarket case. You would need to know what kind (type) of motherboard you have in order to buy the right case. Then you can put the drive in the case as intended.

Actually that may be the wrong thread but it is the right answer.

    CPU's ???

I am currently running 28 4mp and 6mp Dahua cameras setup for substreams and am running between 14% and 17% CPU on an I7-8700 @ 3.2GHz . Amazing. The best upgrade yet, worth the money and then some for yearly licensing. ETA I am not running max FPS but I am running the max resolution.

Larger system unstable - where's the issue?

Absolutely if I was to go a distance. I'm going up a 150 foot drive with a bend in the middle so I have 2 radios in the middle and one at either end. Trust me, works great, incredible WiFi with neg 65 being the worst. Solid connection. AC connections are great. I too do a lot of networking and...

Larger system unstable - where's the issue?

If I was doing this at work I would use a completely different Ubiquiti. For home these work exceptionally well and have the same Ubiquiti performance and reliability. Remember I don't need a large number of logins or huge amounts of bandwidth. I need reliability and a reasonable amount of...

Larger system unstable - where's the issue?

I'm a little late to the party but... BP2008 you hit it on the head, good quality radios are what is needed, you can achieve the equivalent of wired cameras with Ubiquity radios for the backbone and cameras connected to them through a quality switch. Forget the WiFi in the cameras as someone...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

If you are a network engineer you could use ACL's and block the cameras by MAC. The best thing to do in this case would be to have an allowed none rule and then specifically allow the devices that you want to have internet access. The nice thing about two NIC's are that there is no DG so the...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Dual nics are simpler and in my case faster. GB switches and a GB network seem to work faster than a GB router and switches.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I've been using VLAN's for years and when I updated my routers in the last year I found out that some things I've done in OpenWrt on some of the newish TP-Link routers didn't work the same. This morning before the sun came up (and it was still relatively cool in the atic) I finally pulled...

I tried them as recently as a year ago, really no better.

Surprised so many people are OK with WPA2-PSK

I tried TP-Link power line adapters and had a lot of problems with them. I have no problems with my current setup.

Surprised so many people are OK with WPA2-PSK

As others have said, buy a good quality camera (Dahua's are a favorite of mine) and then put good network gear up to support it. I have camera's all over my property as we have a number of show dogs and live in a secluded location and that is what I do. Ubiquiti AP's all over the place and they...

No, actually the c:\blueiris folder is on an Evo 860, after 24 hours it moves to slower drives.

BI after an unexpected power outage... stuck at 100% CPU

So what is a typical size for clips.dat with 25 4 or 5 mega pixel cameras averaging 10 FPS and all running H264 or H265? I'm currently at 30G which doesn't seem excessive to me. Thanks!

Cams bounce between "No Signal" and connecting fine

IMO cameras and WiFi doesn't mix. If you are going to use cameras and don't have an Ethernet or Fiber run there, use a quality AP, don't depend on the WiFi card that is in the camera.

So then if you have the camera set for 265+ does it downgrade the stream to 265?

New computer and I enabled H265+ and Hardware accelerated decode

I had Hardware accelerated decode turned on in V4 and it did a respectable job. I now am on a new computer (I7-8700) and installed V5 at the time as I recall. I went through today and enabled the H265 profile on my cameras. All I can say is I am impressed, 23 cameras between 3 and 5 Mega pixels...

Who runs 6+ 1080p wireless cams flawlessly (no disconnects) in there BI environment?

17 of my cameras are used wirelessly. IMO the trick is to connect them to a quality managed switch and use quality WiFi equipment to send them back to 'home base'. We live on 5 acres and about 2 acres are totally covered. I use Ubiquity AP's and Ubiquity Edgerouter-X switches, all running...

High CPU Useage on 22 Camera build system

I have 12 720P cameras capped at 10 fps on an I5-650 (2 cores 4 threads), 8G of memory, Windows 10 64 bit. Runs at about 45% of CPU. Just a benchmark for anyone that is interested.

Hi, new member here. I am experiencing huge slowdown issues with 4.5.3.7 and have checked whatever I can. Which site are you referring to to try an older update file? Thank you.
