FYI that here's another/easy way to run Internet Exploder - simply creating a desktop short-cut that has a Target of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" ienotdead -embedding" Click on that, allow it to install the plug-in, click OK for all the security warnings (YIKES!)...- alekk

Good suggestion ... but unfortunately I don't have switches that show that info. My "solution" is to hook my laptop up to the end of the cable run and run Speedtest. If it comes back at 100 Mbps, I know there is "something" limiting going on. But if I see 500+Mbps (I have GigE to the house)... -

UPDATE: If you use Internet Explorer (with plug-in), you can download videos via the web interface at the full 100Mbps speed - note you can't go any faster because the NIC doesn't support GigE. Thanks @TheOtherMike for pointing that out on the data sheet (maybe for 2024, Dahua will go with... -

How would you compare the low-light performance of the Dahua 5442-ZE-S3 versus the 5526 and more recent 2/5/7xxxx cameras from Hikvision? Also, the Dahua "H" series has an F/1.2 lens versus F1/.8 ... so the light gathering is 2X ... but otherwise sensor quality, etc. is similar? -

Can you please expand more on this @steve1225 ? I have a Hikvision 5526 from a couple of years ago and recently got a Dahua 5442-ZE-S3 ... the later appears to have noticeably better low light performance. Anyone making a vari-focal camera with F/1.0 lens and (good!) 1/1.2" sensor?!? ;-) -

Sorry I somehow fat-fingered the link above - click here to see how the image quality from grabbing an image from snapshot.cgi is MUCH less than if you do a do a Snapshot from the Live view using the camera icon. Any ideas on how to improve the quality? -

While not as obvious in the daytime pictures, the same problem exists. 1st image is the 3,697KByte PNG as generated from the web interface. 2nd image is the 187KByte JPEG as generated from an API snapshot. 3rd image is a 170KByte JPEG generated from Photoshop using the the original PNG and... -

Finally, here's a comparison of the "road area" of the Web versus API snapshot. This done by pulling the originals into Photoshop, cropping the same 1500x400 top right corner, and then combining into a single image. You can "see" the lightening plus the blockiness. -
