    BIG Owl on my Trail

Coyote With Injured Front Paw, 12/20/24 It's been 5 weeks since this injured coyote initially crossed my cameras, and for the first time s/he seems to be putting a little bit of weight on it. I cut ~30 seconds of dead time between the two animals, but these two are definitely traveling...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

So, just for fun, I did get the 2nd bridge up and running, with the camera in the upper-right powered via the POE Pass-through. So yes, this configuration works, even though I will most probably not use it this way: I think the bridge are happier with greater distance, as currently this is...

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

If I do that, and then repair the database, will all my old Alerts still be there?
  5. TheWaterbug

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

Performance will not be a problem. I have only 15 cameras that push less than 10 MB/sec to the server: The Synology will read/write >>> 80 MBps, sustained:

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

I currently have a single internal HDD inside my Optiplex as the V:\ drive, e.g. for Video, so BI stores everything at V:\BlueIris\New\, V:\BlueIris\Stored\, etc. I just bought a 4-bay Synology DS423 and set up a Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) volume with three 8 TB spinners to give me 16 TB of...

    Blue Iris 6.0 coming?

From the notification email: Emphasis mine. Kudos to BI for this policy. So many other companies use a major version as an excuse to charge extra.

    Power Diode Bypass on IP5M-T1277EW-AI?

The issue with this application is that it's almost 150' from that POE+ switch to the cameras, and I pulled the two strings of outdoor Cat5e thinking that I'd never need more than 2, so it's screw-clipped to the underside of a fence rail for about 100' of that distance, e.g. no easy way to pull...

    Power Diode Bypass on IP5M-T1277EW-AI?

And yes, the internal IR on both cameras is turned off.

    Power Diode Bypass on IP5M-T1277EW-AI?

Yeah, the cameras run a bit warm: but they've been running for a good long while now, with no problems. When I first set this up I had three cameras and two 4W illuminators all running off of one cheap POE extender powered from one POE+ switch port: When I swapped the 4W lights for the...

    Power Diode Bypass on IP5M-T1277EW-AI?

I'm powering a nominal 10W Tendelux illuminator off of each Amcrest camera. I measured the 20W Tendelux model off of my POE meter, and it measured 20W, so I would assume their 10W model is 10W. They've been fine. They've been up and running for a couple of years now.

    Power Diode Bypass on IP5M-T1277EW-AI?

Has anyone opened up one of these and figured out which diode needs to be bypassed to bring 12 V out on the barrel jack when the camera is powered over POE, e.g. so that we can power an external illuminator from the camera? Here's what I did with the older, cheaper, IP5M-B1186EW-28MM:

    Blue Iris UI3

BlueIris.exe is fine. I believe the bug is on the UI3 side. If I trigger the bug, and then choose a different clip to Convert/Export, and I leave UI3 open long enough, it will automatically download successfully. And then if I go back into the Clipboard to try and re-download that same clip...

    Blue Iris UI3

H! I started a Convert/Export of 4 time-lapsed 2 hr clips from one of my cameras, and while the first one finished processing and downloaded on my laptop while UI3 was open, the other 3 finished while I was NOT connected to the BI server box (5.9.9.10). When I next connected via UI3 and saw all...

Are all 3 pairs connected directly back to your LAN? Or are any of your bridges connected by bridges, as in my diagram above?

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

LOL. I forgot that this isn't my thread. I'm the Blue Iris server, and I'm trying to enable placement of LPR cameras at these other locations, that I don't control, because my angle to the driveways is all wrong:

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

I bought a pair of the NS-5AC units and another LPR camera, for experimentation in my house, before I approach my industrial neighbor for cooperation to deploy. First impressions: Units unbox with a static IP address of 192.168.1.20. Why are manufacturers so allergic to DHCP for networking...

POE over Powerline adapters! Will they suck? Let's find out.

These don't suck. Success! I plugged the endpoint unit into the AC socket under the eaves: and then tried two locations in the house/garage where I had an Ethernet drop near an outlet. The first was right near the router and other assorted infrastructure, and that was bad. As soon as I...
