...and no need to go to the trouble of redacting private (non-public) IP addresses such as 192.168.XXX.XXX, as we all have 'em. My fiber router is 192.168.200.1, my Blue Iris server PC is 192.168.200.250. It's the WAN (public) IP that should not be posted. It's the one that is revealed when you...- TonyR

NVR with POE or separate switch?
Getting the NVR with its heat-intolerant hard drive out of the attic is a good idea but be aware that it can be noisy (HDD, fan, possible beeps, etc.) so re-consider if thinking about a occupied bedroom or the entertainment center at the TV. From the specs it does not appear to have IR (and may not even pick up IR from an external emitter) so hopefully one would have adequate ambient light at night for it, even though it's a 1/1.8" sensor on under 4MB res.- TonyR

How to download snapshot on IPC-D1B20?
Is 172.30.165.188 the camera's IP address as found in its webGUI under "Network"=>"TCP/IP" settings? Are you using IE, Edge with IE Tab or Palemoon 32 bit browser? You need one of those to be able to download and install the plug-in from the camera. -
