Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

What about openHAB? It's more of a complete home automation and security system but is cross-platform. https://www.openhab.org/addons/bindings/ipcamera/#hls-http-live-streaming It appears to be a bit of a bear to set up - but user-customization can be good. The Forum is very active and...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

It's not only about money. MS has always been awful on privacy and security and I don't want my home security system dependent on an operating system that they control.

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

I can't comment on that but wondered why there was no "About". While they do have a Boston, MA address, Crunchbase shows their home as Kaliningrad, Russian Federation.

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

I haven't looked at that one before. Cool! Could it handle 12 cams at 2k on something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C89TQ1YF/?th=1 or would this be better https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Optiplex-Desktop-i7-4770-3-4-Windows/dp/B082QMTGW8?th=1 ? I like MX Linux but could use a different...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

OK, cool. I'm BSD & Linux only. It can be challenging sometimes - but it keeps the mind active. (I'm retired. I'm familiar with MS versions of windows but choose not to use anything MS, Google, or Apple.) Thanks.

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

What did you decide re. Shinobi, Frigate, and others you tested - compared to Bluecherry, please?

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Thanks. So, that would be $120/yr for 12 cameras. That's lower than many of the others, though it appears that Bluecherry charges that for a one-time-only 'perpetual' license. (Not sure what happens if the product is discontinued or sold in a year or two. I guess that's a chance one takes.)

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

I read through their page some. Are you using a MS version of windows or Linux? A localized version of Deepstack sounda useful (it's unclear if that may be used with Scrypted) - I avoid anything-google like the plague. Could it handle 12 cams on a Beelink Mini PC, Mini S12 Pro Intel 12th N100...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Where do you see $10, per camera, please? I couldn't find that on their page. Is there a popup when you god to download? Also, any idea why the label only the Linux Docker version as "Free"?

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Has anyone looked at Bluecherry with their Deepstack integration enabled? Some reviews suggest that it approaches the performance of Frigate with Coral.

Is ZoneMinder still being actively developed?

OK, will try to narrow down to no more than a couple - I need to get this working sooner than later. I don't need fancy, just basic functions, somewhat secure, and stable. Thanks.

Is ZoneMinder still being actively developed?

OK on 32gb with the option to upgrade. Any graphics chipsets to avoid? (I know some of that is related to the OS but are there any that are poor in this application?) Plan is at least 10 cameras (possibly 12-16 eventually), several are already 4k - others to be upgraded over time. Still...

Is ZoneMinder still being actively developed?

Thanks. Should I plan for 32 or 64g ram? Will the integrated graphics chip be adequate? (I've been using laptops and mini-pc's for a while now so I've lost track of discrete component pc tech.)

Is ZoneMinder still being actively developed?

I initially checked here: https://alternativeto.net/software/blue-iris/?platform=linux I just now did some additional research - for Linux-friendly alternatives to BlueIris ... UPDATED (05Feb2024) Bluecherry - Current license sale says a "Perpetual" License for 16 cams is $145.00, for 12 it's...

Is ZoneMinder still being actively developed?

It appears that it's been a while since the last update to ZoneMinder. I'm a BSD & Linux only user - so, as much as I like the features of BlueIris, it's not an option. Our system must support at least 10 cams (several 4k, al least one is vehicle license read quality), a mix of WIfi and wired...

    Dahua/Loryta Latency

UPnP & P2P are off. I seem to recall reading (elsewhere on this forum) a mention that RTMP may be useful?
