    Video Quality

Hello - I have been trying different ways to make the best video quality. For example, when a car drives by, it would catch most of the car movement instead of jumping down the street. I have wireless cams, some HD and the rest mpeg. I have them all set at 10 fps with adjust automatically...

    Video Feed

Did you see the second? Basically the live video feed is crisp and the recorded video is more blurry and fuzzy. Almost as if you have satellite tv and a cloud goes over and it gets pixel-looking.

    Video Feed

Thought I'd start a new thread - my H.264 cams are direct-to-disk and look great. My mpeg cams are encoded with the h.264/mpeg4 codes and as far as the further configurations I left them all as default. However, the video playback is a bit blurry and pixelated. Should I change some of the...

    Recording location files

My cpu usage is around 40% but browsing to find files takes a long time. I just don't want to miss something.

    Recording location files

I have: 1) continuous recording; 2) a jpeg a second; 3) motion triggering at most sensitive level, and then in alerts tab, emails upon motion triggering.

    Recording location files

I see that posting is for uploading to a web server so I turned that off. You are saying either use continuous recording with no snaps or just use snaps upon motion trigger?

    Recording location files

Sorry to keep bothering you but am confused - I think all of my cams are cloned, I have my Foscam settings internally set within the cams, and then blue iris settings via the software. Maybe I am misunderstanding what the difference is between record a snap a second and posting jpeg.

    Recording location files

Also let's say someone is driving by, the snap a second gets the car in one position, the snaps upon motion gets the car in a different position, so not much is missed. - - - Updated - - - should I decrease my fps on each cam?

    Recording location files

Because the video is somewhat jumpy so I thought better be safe and have a snap a second. I also have snaps upon motion being emailed. What do you mean by cloned cameras - literally two cameras?

    Recording location files

Is it possible to have videos go to one folder and jpeg to another folder for each cam? You are suggesting not using continuous recording?

    Recording location files

Thanks again I think all is kosher now. The purpose is not to miss anything as there has been a problem in the neighborhood with someone.

    Recording location files

Ok I just realized that and am doing that now. So in the record tab I leave it as default file and just choose the assigned aux file I assigned in clips and archiving?
  19. C

    Recording location files

I don't see any of these folders in clips and archiving, I manually entered them in each cam's recording tab. I guess you don't have to have them in clips and archiving because I keep checking and the videos and snaps are all up to date

    Recording location files

I'd like to do it the right way so the clips and archiving tab will automatically move to storage and then delete. This way it has no idea when to put in storage or to delete, I will have to do it myself every few days.

    Recording location files

yes the snaps are going to same folder as videos - are you saying that I could designate a different folder here?

    Recording location files

Try to open a folder with a few hundred thousand files stored in it - it takes forever. Assigning a folder for each camera reduced the time to open and view significantly. Also viewing in the side clip folder is impossible with so many files. I am not using the aux folders - the way I have it...

    Recording location files

My cams take a pic a second and continuous video so one folder for all 6 cams gets very large, that is why I separated them.
  24. C

    Recording location files

Because I have 6 cams and it is easier to view clips and photos separately. What confuses me is in clips and archiving it has one new folder designation, but then I have each of the 6 cams designated in folders in each camera setting. So how can the clips and archiving determine when they get...

    Recording location files

Hi - I have the New folder designated in my general clips and archiving tab, with a limit of 1 day before moved to storage. However, I have 6 cams, and I have on each cam's recording tab a separate folder so that each cam's clips stay separate. However, I don't know how long they will stay there...

    Email alerts

I have Foscam cameras - I have them internally set to send pics upon motion to an email address. Then on BI I have the set to send emails upon motion as well. I set three cams as a group and two trigger upon motion and the third is supposed to email an alert when the group or motion is...

    Group triggering

I read this in the instructions several times but am still unsure of the format. If I want each cam to post video and pics to its own folder, would I do it like this: &CAM./G:/STORAGE "If you add &CAM\ the camera will have its own folder. Although not recommended, it is also possible to...

    Group triggering

Thanks for the help. Actually my system is ok with the snap a second and continuous video, usually under 30% cpu resources and this computer is dedicated for the cams only. I have them stay one day on my internal c drive and then storage goes to a 2 tb usb drive. I am not sure how you do the...
