Showing a particular camera fullscreen on a specific tablet

1: Create a camera group in BI with the cameras you want to display on the tablet. 2: Select the group in the main (BI Server) window dropbox and click the gear icon "Group settings" 3: Check "Favor cameras/groups which are triggered/sensing motion" 4: Check "Only Cycle when at least one camera...

    BI Website Down

I noticed that I was getting a "Key Not Found" error message on the app when I attempt to connect to any of my servers (lookup key at login is enabled). So, I headed over to the Blue Iris website and I see it is having issues also. Hopefully he has good backups of everything.

4.7.8 - August 28, 2018 - Support for the Nvidia CUDA hardware decoding

That’s good news. Once it’s all configured correctly, your server load should drop to just above whatever it takes for basic I/O whenever your not viewing a stream. When you’re viewing a stream, it will only require the cpu resources for that stream. If you tile all cameras at once however, you...

In the per camera video options, there’s a “limit decoding unless required “ checkbox that fenderman is talking about. If you turn it on, you need to offload your motion detection to the cameras, so it’s not for everyone, but it can save a ton of CPU. Your cameras have to be supported by...

4.7.8 - August 28, 2018 - Support for the Nvidia CUDA hardware decoding

Incase if theft, I have a camera on the server that sends all of its events to a cheap NAS hidden elsewhere in the house. In regards to the rest, there’s an easy way and a hard way to do things. You’re definitely taking the hard route, but with your qualifications, if anyone can do it you...

And as much as it hurts, buying a cheap $200-$300 i5 or i7 system is probably worth it in the long run. My 9 camera system only uses 81w (ups + pc + Poe + cameras) with 24x7 motion detection and recording on all cameras.

Dual NICs, NTP Nettime Windows 10

So there are a couple of options here. You could go into your firewall rules and set the 4 Network Time Service rules to operate on both public and private networks. It's a fine solution, but the main root of the problem is that in Windows 10, a LAN without a router on it automatically gets...

Dual NICs, NTP Nettime Windows 10

Yes, I accidentally deleted my firewall rules so I had to go over the whole thing again and I think you are correct. It was disabling the "public" firewall rules on the Camera LAN that enabled the NTP sync to work. I'll double check things and see if I can get another updated pic to post. What...

Dual NICs, NTP Nettime Windows 10

It's been a while since you've posted this, but I was running into similar NTP sync problems on the isolated LAN that my cameras are on (A second NIC). The issue was that Windows Firewall had automatically set my camera network's adapter connection to "Public" instead of "Private". To make the...

Set camera to inactive on signal loss

I agree with the button thing, alas my wife does not. So these two "floater" cameras get unplugged for two reasons #1, they're inside our house on Wifi with WAN access. Maybe some day I could fix that, but it's pretty low priority. #2 The wife likes to place them wherever she thinks the dogs...

Set camera to inactive on signal loss

Okay, thanks! That's what I thought. Great idea on the schedule workaround. A manual override probably won't pass the wife acceptance factor, but you got me thinking, maybe I'll try to automate it with geofencing. The last time I tried geofencing it was somewhat erratic (about a year ago). We've...

Set camera to inactive on signal loss

I appreciate the help - both of those settings have been set "correctly" and they are still showing up on any camera groups that they are part of. I even turned off overlays just to make sure that's not an issue. Any other ideas? It just hit me, could direct to disk be causing the issue? I'll...

Set camera to inactive on signal loss

I have a couple of cheap Dlink wifi ptz's on my BI setup that I only plug in when we leave the house so that my wife can keep track of what our dogs are doing. It works great, plug them in, BI sees them automatically and then starts recording and streaming the video like the rest of our cameras...

4.7.8 - August 28, 2018 - Support for the Nvidia CUDA hardware decoding

Enough with the testing or wondering if Ken can make improvements to the Nvidia based decoding - I think the wiki about quick sync says it all: Intel Quick Sync Video - Wikipedia “A benchmark from Tom's Hardware showed in 2011 that Quick Sync could convert a 449 MB, four-minute 1080p file to...
