    for recording 24/7 there is NVR / BI... I use camera sd-cards as BACKUP and they record only events... backup for situation that HDD in NVR will fail.. or someone will stole NVR (I usually mount them somewhere next to some TV).. there is no need to backup recording where nothing happens...

    5442-S3 is almost 3 years old camera... You should try TIOC-PRO 3449, which use totally new AI-ISP video processing technology.. with this lighting it should give you bright colorful image... there is risk that darker parts will be noisy, but when city will fix that lamp it should be good...

    Normally not... But AI NVR can add SECOND ai function to those AI cams... Like adding Face Detection & Recognition to camera with IVS... Of course there are AI / bandwith / decoding limits when You use AI on NVR - everything is in the spec sheet.

    If you have mostly Dahua cams and want to buy some extra ones, then Dahua NVR is way to go... ps. I never understood why Andy sells 8 channel recorders at all, if the surcharge for 16 channels is around 20-40 USD...
