Unless it's sensor controlled, I think 1/2 the issue is the sheer number of hours you're putting on these. Depening on your boats construction you also risk bi-metal corrosion of either the boat or camera housing is not properly physically isolated from each other, if they're different metals. I think the bigger issue here you might be missing is the waterproofing aspect. Cameras on a boat will be constantly soaked in Saltwater, sometimes under pressure if a big wave strikes.
