I agree with the others above. If you don't have much light, the PTZ5AM-25X will work well. Here is an example with no added lights on my driveway--just the PTZ5AM's built-in IR. Also, the beta software of the animal firmware is working very well with this camera. -

BTW, the tracking on the new camera (PTZ5A4M-25X) is amazing compared to the older PTZ. Here is a cat about 50 feet away yesterday that the PTZ tracked.- tmxv4128

Bird deterrent for turret cameras?
Just wondering if any of you have suggestions for bird deterrents for turret cameras. Bird spikes work great at keeping birds off my PTZ cameras, but I haven't yet found anything that works equally well for turret cameras. -

I use AAC on all my cameras with noise filter "off." Volume at "95" Since I transfer the videos to Final Cut Pro on my Macintosh, AAC seems to work best. -

Here are some pictures from this morning. I put a CPL on my camera lens to eliminate any glare. Even with that, the dash cam is pretty much invisible from outside the vehicle. I also took pictures from the inside looking out, so you can see their position. -

IPC-Color4K-X-6MM alternative with longer focal length?

Exactly right. I have both a 4K-X 6mm and B54IR-Z4E-S3 focused on different parts of my driveway. The 4K-X is amazing, even with its built-in warm light at night; and the Z4E is fantastic with its IR. If those aren't long enough, the B52IR-Z12E-S2 would be the one to get. You can access the loop setting on the dash cam, although making the settings on the app is a bit easier (attached). I found that a setting of 2 minutes is the sweet spot. A setting of 1 minute creates way too many files, but 2 minutes is a nice compromise and allows easy editing of the videos... -
