Are they blocked in your router from reaching the internet? Do you have ports forwarded in your router for remote access? Do you have UPNP turned OFF in the cams and in your router?

Stop the updating, and do a hard reset on the camera, seems the firmware is wrong or not suits for the cam. Sometimes firmware can't work for the cams production after the firmware released date.

Do I understand the cam is uploading the pics to Amazon cloud? This could be the delay.

@frank_l You can hard-reset the camera to revert everything to the default, including its admin password. I haven't had a need to reset a cam yet, but there is a thread on this forum with pictures that show you how to get to that reset switch inside the camera's body. Dahua camera reset...
