Totally agree factory reset is best practice after a firmware upgrade/downgrade. How do you remember/save all the settings for each individual camera? I use Snagit to store a heap of screenshots in sequential order. Is there a better method?

Just make a hard reset on the camera for 5-7 seconds, then camera can be defaulted.

My personal experience learns me that the NVR is best suited to "auto-initialize" any (Dahua) IPC - so I would suggest to factory reset the cam (open it up, find the reset pin, powercycle the cam and hold the pin for 30sec). It will get the default IP (192.168.1.108), but the NVR will still find...

Did you try a hard reset with the button inside the cam? And why do you do a reboot?

Are they blocked in your router from reaching the internet? Do you have ports forwarded in your router for remote access? Do you have UPNP turned OFF in the cams and in your router?

hi, after a few moths without problems 2 of my 7 5231-E are loosing the settings after each reboot. reset settings to default did't helped, any ideas? Also the time on this cams is minus 1h after each reboot. all the cams are running with the same firmware.

Stop the updating, and do a hard reset on the camera, seems the firmware is wrong or not suits for the cam. Sometimes firmware can't work for the cams production after the firmware released date.

Do I understand the cam is uploading the pics to Amazon cloud? This could be the delay.

Use regular motion detection if you want to capture everything that moving in front of the len no matter how fast or slow it moving but I would not recommend motion detection if you live in a bug infected area and uses IR at nighttime.

When you connected to the NVR and you saw 10.1.1.68, could you view the camera video picture on the NVR at that point? Find a 12 volt DC power supply, power up ONE camera. Connect camera to your network either at your router or a network switch. Using your laptop, make sure it's connected to...

thank you for being so nice :) i’m going to try, hopefully, to get them reset tonight. (and in full disclosure: the lorex system wasn’t exactly easy either... but at least the cameras showed up! at least by clicking around we are learning them..... slowly! and i like spying on my cat during...

ok i’ll try this tonight if we have a power supply that will work. (so maybe like a power supply for one of my external hard drives???) so i reset first? and a reset should change it back to a 192 ip?

You need power..Plug the camera into your computer. go into your adapter settings on the computer and change the ip address be on the same network as the camera.. So for example if the camera is 192.168.1.1 set the ip address to 192.168.1.100 on the computer and click ok. Then the computer and...

Ah, sorry. I thought the original issue was that his NVR couldn't see the cameras. I didn't see where he wanted to administer them via the web client (outside of possibly changing the IP address).

You don't need a POE injector, just a 12V/1 Amp power supply to test or reset the camera. When powered with 12V from the pigtail, any network cable/port will communicate. This Amazon one works, or I'm sure you can find a 2.1mm/5.5mm 12V power supply around the house. Many DC items in the...

...to run the camera. You might try plugging ONE camera back into the Lorex NVR (so that the camera gets power). While it's plugged in, hold the reset button for 60 seconds and see if that resets it and if the NVR can see it again. It's important to do this one at a time. Things do not work...

...(or something not being used currently), then log in to camera (you need to know what its IP was changed to). The tried and true way of a hard reset is to depress the button, apply 12V power and continue to hold the button down for at least a minute. You will then have 192.168.1.108 again. SD

@frank_l You can hard-reset the camera to revert everything to the default, including its admin password. I haven't had a need to reset a cam yet, but there is a thread on this forum with pictures that show you how to get to that reset switch inside the camera's body. Dahua camera reset...
