    LPR Nails wanna-be criminals

Me as well! I was telling my neighbor (an elderly man and former LA County sheriff with millions of amazing stories, including being the lead tactical team for the North Hollywood Shootout in the 1990s) and he was flabbergasted at the ability and technology that's out there right now, as am I...

    Coyote caught a cat?

This was a few years ago, with my first security camera which made me realize I needed a better system. This Reolink is since retired to a much more robust system now, thanks to this site and EmpiretecAndy

Video lag when moving between presets / autotracking on a sd49225

Thanks again for taking the time to try to help. Im going to start with the path of least resistance... Easiest to most difficult. I should go ahead and install those SD cards and test if the glitches record to those as well. Its laggy when viewed directly through a browser, other 4 cameras...

Video lag when moving between presets / autotracking on a sd49225

Thank you, I will be sure to not update firmware OR factory reset. I do see factory default as an option, and several months ago Andy suggested I try that when my other cam was lagging, but a Reboot resolved so I never did. I use BI primarily but using IE/Chrome direct to the native video...

Video lag when moving between presets / autotracking on a sd49225

Hello, I have 2 of these cameras and one of them is glitchy and lagging when moving between presets and when autotracking. The other camera was doing this for a while but stopped after rebooting a couple times. Now its happening on my more integral camera and im really hoping I dont have to...

Thanks all, I reconnected it with a shorter cable and a different port in the switch after another reset and it magically showed up! Now I just gotta walk through hopefully moving it to my correct LAN.

Help with IPC-B5442E-ZE setup / installation. Not finding camera on network

Hello everyone, Trying to install this camera I ordered from Andy a few months ago, just now getting around to it. This is my first serious camera, but im running into an issue trying to set it up. Im not able to see the camera in my home network. I use 192.168.87.xxx for my router's dhcp, and...

    NVR shopping

Here are a few pics of the front of my house if anyone has recommendations on cameras. My road is a mostly private road with just a few houses and a dead end, off a busier road and we do get a lot of look-y loo's driving by and getting lost on our road. Id like to be able to read their plates as...

    NVR shopping

Another newb question - cameras with optical zoom or varifocal lenses... When viewing recordings are you zooming digitally and losing image quality? If yes, is there such a thing as "Autozoom" that might fill the screen via zoom when motion is detected? Not necessarily autotracking, just an...

    NVR shopping

Thanks for the replies. I do have Blue Iris, and while I am a network technician at a local ISP with decent networking knowledge, I want a simple to setup and use system. I'm okay spending time up front and money isn't a major concern. I have a PC, more or less dedicated, and with 2 live streams...

    NVR shopping

Hello! Im shopping for my first NVR and I currently have an assortment of cameras. Some POE and some standard power, and some wireless, though I think ill keep those separate. Im looking at an NVR bundle on Amazon (need a few more cameras) and found a Reolink NVR 8ch with 4 POE 4k cams. Am I...

    Dahua 4K PTZ DH-SD8A820WA-HNF

Got it. For some reason I was under the impression BI was a replacement for the camera's GUIs but it sounds like both are utilized. And thanks for the tip on the cam. Looks like a $350-400 camera, not out of my price range but probably something ill work towards after at least getting full...

    Dahua 4K PTZ DH-SD8A820WA-HNF

An absolute newb question... Is that type of video possible via Blue Iris? Im just getting into it a little more and recently got Blue Iris setup with some cheap cams. Next step is decent PTZ cams, im hoping Blue Iris will do the auto track and zoning as well as what you have.

New to BI, trouble with Cam#2

Zmodo says while they are the same model they are somehow different, stating they are both on the most up to date firmware. I still cant get this second camera working... Now im looking at alternatives cameras. I have about 8 wyze cams for inside but I dont think I want to migrate those to BI. I...

New to BI, trouble with Cam#2

I did try that. I feel like firmware is the problem but Im not finding a way to force an update to it. Wasn't able to find out how on Zmodo's website or forums. Ill send an email and see if they respond.

New to BI, trouble with Cam#2

Good idea, for some reason still not working. MACs are different. Edited the IP to the nonworking and stays on no signal. Switch back and it goes no signal for 5 seconds then the image appears.

New to BI, trouble with Cam#2

That was a great idea! IT also reminded me I never set up a block of IPs outside the DHCP range for my dedicated devices, so thank you. Unfortunately I still have a no signal error. BI does find the camera when I select Find/Inspect. The image/feed is also viewable via the MeShare/Zmodo APP

New to BI, trouble with Cam#2

One more screenshot - After I copy the working cameras settings in the video config tab exactly, then adjust the IP to that of Cam2, BI seems to locate the camera when I hit Find/Inspect. Notice the firmware version V4.1.0.8 whereas the working Camera (same model) is on V4.1.0.10 Opening...

New to BI, trouble with Cam#2

Hi there I have 2 Zmodo cameras that have been working through the Zmodo app for a few years. Recently purchased Blue Iris and wanted to migrate everything to that. I have Wyze Cams, but Ill tackle those later. These Zmodo cameras are both Zmodo ZP-IBH13-W 720P 's. The first camera came right...
