Saw Paul Hibbert's video and bought 2 of these doorbells off Indiegogo last year with lifetime cloud service for $294, one for me and one for my mum. When bell is pressed it doesn't process the "video call" to mobile phone, on both doorbells. Battery life lasts only 6 days, not the 4-6 months...

Thank you for the advice. Would a varifocal 4mp camera such as this one work also with the older NVR? It has H.264 encryption at least, and a 2.8-12mm varifocal zoom function, but will that zoom function work (using the NVR's mouse ?) Or am i better off going with 2 fixed cams...

Hello, i have an old Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/P/8 NVR from 2014. Which camera's will work with this? Preferably Hikvision brand (for compatibility) I've been told newer camera's probably won't work and that i should buy a new NVR, but i don't have the money for that right now.. just need 1 or 2...

Should i hang the camera's on the wall like this, or use a wall mount/bracket/box of some type like the PFB203W ? PFB203W

Would layout below also work? The 6mm camera above doorbell, but just out of reach of vandals. Also, is 2.8mm or 3.5 better for the middle? And does anyone have experience with Motion sensor floodlights by any chance to combine with these camera's? For example should i get normal floodlights...

Thank you mat, isn't a eye level camera easier to reach / more prone to vandalism though? I was thinking about going with a doorbell camera for eye level capturing (in the future) Can you also show me what you mean exactly with bucket and wood beam method? What is the bucket for?
