I'm searching for access control system which is using remotes or hard to duplicate rfid

It really comes down to how much financial outlay you’re committed to. If the budget is low as it is for the vast majority of consumers the options are limited. If the budget is endless as seen in Enterprise / Government then it really comes down to how serious they are and how it will...

I'm searching for access control system which is using remotes or hard to duplicate rfid

Based on your stated criteria you can purchase almost any consumer grade hardware that meets your budget. If security is truly your primary goal you’ll need to invest in a biometric system that is based on the WYH-WYN principle. Nobody serious uses a remote to access / control entry.

    Beginner question - POE 12V, 24V, 48V

Just wanted to add some comments and offer insight as to the why?!? Almost every installation I’ve done in ancient history has included a dedicated 12 / 24 VDC power cable. The AWG was obviously dictated by the cable run, required current, and meeting the 80% power limit. Why? Because there...

Yahoo emails are no longer sending via SMTP. All are showing as drafts in Yahoo.

Baring you didn’t make a filter that applies to this email. You’ll want to insure your video security system isn’t sending out hundreds of emails per minute / hours. As that will quickly get flagged by the ISP / Email provider. As it relates to any kind of filter depending upon who your cell...

Cameras keep going forward an hour

As called out earlier defaulting the camera to an OEM state would let you know the hardware is in a good known state. There is nothing that can make the system settings change all by itself once set other than external API / Network calls, corrupted firmware, hardware failure. It goes without...

Cameras keep going forward an hour

Baring it’s not a hardware (firmware) bug. I’ll wager it’s because you have two NTP systems running causing the bounce. Simple test is to default one camera to a factory state. Doing so will ensure the camera is in a good known state. Next, set the camera to connect to NTP of your choice...

Issues with ColorVu DS-2CD2147G2-SU Cameras At Night

Baring the two culprits indicated by the other members are you sure the lens / dome isn’t covered by finger grease?!? The included cloth is there for a reason in case you accidentally touch the lens or the exterior dome is dirty from the final installation. As it relates to minimizing the...

    Malware in EmpireTech IPC-Color4K-T webplugin.exe

Absolutely, as it relates to tools that can scan, see, and access different subnets. This is why my initial reply stated all of the industry best practices. Because when software is the only separation measure in place you’re doomed to failure! This applies to VPN, VLAN, etc . . . When...

Hostname (networking) on Genuine Hikvision vs OEM Hikvision cameras

From personal experience I’ve seen very similar issues with other network related metrics. Have two identical PTZ with apparently the same firmware. Both units have the exact same tabs and function the same. However, the rebranded version shows no model number in SADP tool. Even worse, as I...

    1/1.8" cameras at night

Random question, why do you have the two time stamps in use? Is the camera vs BI not enough or was there some outside factor that needed both to be embedded into the video?

Livestream IP Camera without a PC?

If everything you’ve stated in the initial post about having a 4G network. Along with a RTMP capable video camera. You need only send that RTMP video feed to YouTube. Obviously following whatever required steps to connect the camera to YouTube. It’s been a very long time doing the same but...

Livestream IP Camera without a PC?

Possible solutions are a camera that supports RTMP streaming or extra hardware they can transcode the same and then relay the video feed to YouTube. There are OBS hardware devices which again you send the video feed to. In turn the OBS hardware relays the same to YouTube. Another old school...

    DS-2CD1121G0 Problem

My apologies, I misread your initial post as you had been using IPv6 instead of IPv4! What you stated was the SADP tool did not show any IPv6 information. Ignore my first comment as it relates to IPv6 because this would have sent you down the wrong path and endless rabbit hole. ‍♂️

    Signal Drop

Looking forward to reading what you observe. As noted up above its following KISS when ever possible and making small changes to see the results. Keep in mind the camera should be hard reset as a first step. Doing so insures the camera is in a default OEM state and clears any possible bad user...
