    Playing with some fiber

That is correct.... next update will be to relocate the transformer to shop. About 43 yrs ago I actually used a real doorbell for my shop door to let me know when someone was at the shop. Now with my cameras I have other alerts in play and no longer need the doorbell to chime inside of house...

    Playing with some fiber

The most amazing thing on this whole project is how affordable fiber is now, and that that TP LINK Deco Mesh (I have 3 of them, one in basement, one upstairs and one in shop) when I unplugged the cat5 cable that feed the shop, that Deco kept all my 8 cams on that switch running without missing a...

    Playing with some fiber

During our last Polar freeze, I had some time to mess with some fiber on my network. The main goal was to pull a new fiber from the house to shop through my existing 2" PVC pipe buried many years ago. My main concern was ground potential rise and lightning. I run 8 cams off a POE+ switch in shop...

Windows 11 Pro running CPAI 2.9.5

I see you are running 24H2. I tried it and everything worked, EXCEPT when my monitor would wake up, BI would always be shrunk down to a small window. If I left the BI GUI maximized it would wake up fine. This only happened when I had the BI window sized to my liking. I read many people have had...

    Arctic Blast is here...

I get asked that all the time, I'm just a one man show and make about everything. I am pretty much retired except for a couple of my longtime clients that keep begging me :) I have pretty much gone off the grid now, but my YouTube channel is still intact, so here is a little video I made last...

    Arctic Blast is here...

Tuesday of all days I had a load of metal show up. We had -31 WC that morning and the high was 0 for the day. It was so cold my little old 98 F150 (2 wheel drive) did not spin a tire backing it into my shop. Thats 2000lbs payload and a heavy trailer. But I managed, you just got to dress for it :)

    Why the Lag?

Did you try using the MP3 audio and then go back to defaults. It's been a while since mine did that and all I remember was it was something to do with the audio. You could try to disable the audio capture and see if it goes away, then re enable it as well. If I remember something else, I'll...

    Why the Lag?

I had this before and it was something to do with my audio codec got corrupted or something. It was on MP3 so I just clicked use defaults and the issue went away. I really don't see any wrong with your other settings.

    Camera Disappeared from BI

I just tested this on my demo. I deleted a camera from the group index folder in the registry (all cameras) and then restarted BI. Bi re-populated the registry key for that cam but the camera was in a different location in the GUI "All cameras" layout. I assume as long as the cam is still...

    Camera Disappeared from BI

I had something similar happen once, the cam was moved from the group. You might want to look at that maybe. See if the cam is in the "index" folder under Groups in the BI registry.

    Not this sh!t again...

I had my first bout with Covid over the holidays. The wife got it first and then me. We both had all the classic symptoms of Covid and we tested every other day since we had a stock pile of them. Anyway that was Dec.20 and we both test negative now and both getting back to normal, but the...

    EmpireTech 25X PTZ - Rebooting

I would just ask for a replacement. I assume you bought it from Andy's Amazon or directly. I had an OLD PTZ 25x that finally bit the dust and it does this same thing. I have tried everything to bring it back to life but threw it in the trash. Six years of service in harsh environment so I got my...

Is there any point to using AI with BI?

I like CPAI for the 12 Dahua cams I run that were before AI came along. These cams just don't fail and if they work, I just keep them going. Granted I have upgraded some to be able to play with the latest, I'm just not as addicted to cameras like some here :winktongue:
