    5.9.9 - January 17, 2025 - More Pre-6.0 feature releases

I have used this utility for 3-4 years now and it works flawlessly. Big thanks to Reddawg for making it! Keeps a copy of the registry for each update, which has been a life saver when testing new builds. https://blueirissoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1034

    Cameras randomly dropping offline briefly

You definitely have a mess going on there :) Try like Bruce stated and get your FPS/Key fixed. Its best to run your mainstream and sub stream at the same FPS. I have attached mine just for reference. This is going to take some time :) Crap, I see my driveway cam needs fixed, those menus like to...

    BI reported RAM bug?

Seems like a lot, might check to make sure your camera's framerate set in the camera's GUI matches or close to this setting in BI. Sometimes this gets out of whack and will consume memory.

    IPC-Color4K-T180 Water intrusion

I just installed one on my shop and last night we had a wind driven thunderstorm (about .40) and had no issues. I used the PFB203W Wall Mount. I am very happy with the camera, and it works very well with just my 7w led bulb and streetlights. I do not use the white lights on camera.

    PTZ Camera Recommendation

So, are you running the new firmware which detects animals? Also be sure not to get this set to high or you will miss faster moving targets.

    Recliners

Hancock&Moore make some great leather recliners, my dog and I can easily sit side by side in mine :) Mine is about 15yrs old and still looks like the day I bought it. https://www.hancockandmoore.com/Products/Search?TypeID=CAT15&Page=2

    PTZ Camera Recommendation

I have had mine now just over 2 years and it has performed flawlessly. My only complaint is that when fully zoomed back in the afternoon, I get a reflection due to the lens cover. If I zoom out to even 4x it goes away. Not a huge deal, I've just lived with it. The tracking is awesome.

    Question about "Alert Folder"

Another installation (my daughter's) showing the issue. She wanted the weather overlay feature, and I told her there is a bug, but not to worry too much about it as it will be fixed. But as soon as she went to 5.9.9.29 her alert folder started filling up with pics. In her case she is just...

New Weather API built in BI 5.9.9.29

Keep in mind, it took a few hours for my key to work in BI, it said active on OpenWeatherMap.Org but would not work in BI. You will know when it works as it will populate the conditions and won't get an error message. No need to put CC info in or nothing for the free API service...

Now the weather is too easy to overlay, no weather tools or equipment needed. :) Everything is in the help file to set it up.

    Question about "Alert Folder"

Rolled back to 5.9.9.25 and it works just like it should. I'm done testing for now, obviously a bug that needs fixed from 5.9.9.26 and on.

    Question about "Alert Folder"

Well, now I found that that feature is NOT working. I changed the setting, yet the file size did not change, and it is not a HI-RES picture. Will update Ken on this as they seem to be tied together. Update: In order to have a camera save a hi-res jpeg to your alert folder you MUST have "use...

    Question about "Alert Folder"

Thanks Bruce, but no I do not use that option on any of my cams. These pics are definitely the ones used for AI, but not sure why they just started showing up there. Again, if I revert back to 5.9.9.25 then everything is ok. I have now confirmed this is happening on 3 of my friend's BI installs...

    Question about "Alert Folder"

Today I noticed that in my "Alert" folder I had some 13,000 jpg's in there! After some research I found that ever since updating to 5.9.9.26 that AI or BI is saving a alert image for every cam I run AI on. Note, I do not have save high-res option selected, just save to database. Something has...

    Is CodeProject.AI done?

Guess every once in a while, someone needs to post that CPAI works great. For myself it has been rock solid and the only time I restart the service is when I restart the BI pc every now and then. I'm not doing nothing fancy, but many here use it for ALPR and seem to have great results.

    Playing with some fiber

That is correct.... next update will be to relocate the transformer to shop. About 43 yrs ago I actually used a real doorbell for my shop door to let me know when someone was at the shop. Now with my cameras I have other alerts in play and no longer need the doorbell to chime inside of house...

    Playing with some fiber

The most amazing thing on this whole project is how affordable fiber is now, and that that TP LINK Deco Mesh (I have 3 of them, one in basement, one upstairs and one in shop) when I unplugged the cat5 cable that feed the shop, that Deco kept all my 8 cams on that switch running without missing a...

    Playing with some fiber

During our last Polar freeze, I had some time to mess with some fiber on my network. The main goal was to pull a new fiber from the house to shop through my existing 2" PVC pipe buried many years ago. My main concern was ground potential rise and lightning. I run 8 cams off a POE+ switch in shop...

Windows 11 Pro running CPAI 2.9.5

I see you are running 24H2. I tried it and everything worked, EXCEPT when my monitor would wake up, BI would always be shrunk down to a small window. If I left the BI GUI maximized it would wake up fine. This only happened when I had the BI window sized to my liking. I read many people have had...
