New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I didn't encounter this problem and my AD410 went through a series of reboots while I was testing it so not sure what triggered the problem for you. Edit: It's possible that I already had internet access blocked when I had those settings disabled since you...

New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

Ok, continuing to make progress. Can't take all the credit for this; the folks who did the Amcrest2mqtt addon parsed out a lot of stuff from the AD110 api and it appears to work the same for the AD410. Warning: perfectly good, but wonky, workaround ahead! So to enable the ring button light...

New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

Ok, update from the guinea pig :) Turns out the "no doorbell press/ring" event is due to disabling motion detection, not internet. The AD110 guys figured this out a while ago but I didn't have one of those so only found it through digging around. (edit: you can still disable motion...

New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

Ugh. Looks like when this thing is blocked from the internet it disables the doorbell activation - completely. No events are fired, the external chime doesn't sound, and it doesn't even trigger the mechanical (or digital) chimes in the house. If it is in a disconnected state it will still stream...

New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

Yes, it does. I think it can be set in the Amcrest View app (I don't use it any longer) but you can also do it via the API i.e. http://camera.ip.address/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=getConfig&name=Network To get the current config...

New Amcrest AD410 doorbell Cam Review

Since I enjoy playing around with Doorbell cameras apparently I went ahead and got one of these. I like it better than the EZViz DB1C - it's Onvif compatible, easier to integrate in automations, and I like the video format and quality. I also think it does a better job with WDR but that is...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

You might be able to pull something off using the Onvif addon with Home Assistant, assuming it allows you to receive triggers from Onvif devices. You'll also need an Onvif doorbell camera, which this one isn't. Some variants of the DB1 can be flashed (or come with) Onvif compatible firmware...

    5.4.5 - May 10, 2021

Updated to 5.4.5.1, CPU and memory are normal (low), 5 cameras, 4 Amcrest POE 4k h.265 and 1 DBC1 wireless doorbell h.265, all with frames/i-frames aligned at 15, using Intel Quicksync (beta/v2 in BI) with an i3 8300. I also have Deepstack GPU running with my 1050. With 5.4.5.0 I experienced...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

The Hikvision tool does work (I use 3.0.2.6) to change network, video, etc. parameters, but you can't set up email notifications and the like.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

It's not that kind of camera. It's really meant to be used and managed with their app (EZViz) with alerts and such processed through the cloud. It has an RTSP stream that BI and other NVRs can ingest, and you can leverage those to send email alerts/etc. but nothing native in the camera.

I had the same memory problem, using Nvidia h/w acceleration, rolled back to 5.4.4.8.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Just Google Ring Doorbell UK, there are a number of articles on how to do it/requirements/gotchas/etc. The DBC1 has the same requirements as the Ring, Nest, etc. In fact I didn't even switch out my power kit from my old Ring doorbell. I think one issue you'll have in the UK is you won't be...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I don't disagree but context is king - we're in a doorbell thread for home users. I've also managed large network deployments but not all lessons learned in the Enterprise map downstream to homelabs. Anyway, if it works for you I'm not gonna argue. If you are able to rule out network issues...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

You're worrying over nothing. If you assign a fixed ip via MAC and the router/dhcp server later goes away, the device doesn't lose the ip address, even if you reboot it. Assuming the rest of your LAN is in order you'll still have access. That, and it's just much easier to manage IPs this way. I...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

They may well improve it (and should) but no way will I believe the hardware in this thing is going to do any motion detection well, especially with no PIR sensor. External AI (Deepmind, Sentry (paid), Tensor, whatever) takes more effort to set up for sure but it will beat anything the hardware...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Yep, I have a Pro board too - I was one of the first backers of it and it took a full year to get it, but it's been worth the wait. Integrating all my hardwired door/window/motion sensors and sirens to my HA system (Hubitat) was only the tip of the iceberg. It makes a great bridge for hardwired...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

So far so good but only been a couple days and I don't plan on using it long term (the app, I mean) I actually don't care much about the whole "watch a live video of the person who just rang your doorbell" aspect. The important parts to me are: Accurately record who comes up to the door, (with...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

My quick post install impressions: Video quality (color and sharpness) is improved from the DB1 (I had the Hikvision variant)) and as usual a little tweaking with the Batch Config tool goes a long way. Night vision I can't really tell since I don't normally use it (with the DB1 either) but I...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I can't speak for outside the US, but if you are US based don't order this from Amazon, as it's only 3rd party drop shippers selling at the retail $99 right now. It's popping up all over other retailers online shops (Kolhs, Lowes, BestBuy) for cheaper - usually $69 but I found it at Best Buy for...
