Auto Tracking Lite won't track vehicles, and I thought it might be because the camera might not be able to keep up with something moving that fast, but today I was playing around with the camera GUI and found the "Manual Track" button... I really like the form factor and daytime capabilities...

    Panoramic PTZ

Well, I will say I went into this purchase with a lot more pessimism than usual. I want to give it a fair evaluation, and I hope I'm pleasantly surprised, but I do have a fall-back location in mind for the camera if it just doesn't work out. I have a 9-year old Huisun 10X V1 PTZ that the IR...

    Panoramic PTZ

This is from an IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3 mounted on the pole and zoomed to the full 32mm and aimed at the driveway directly across the cul-de-sac. The house is 350 ft from my camera, and the trash can is ~140 ft (43 m). Looking at the driveway itself, where the tree shadows start is real close to the...

    Panoramic PTZ

My PTZ3E10X-T180 is out for delivery this morning. I went back and forth a few times before ordering it. Andy saying that it would track vehicles tipped the scales, and I ordered it last weekend. Even with its less than optimum specs, for my specific application, and at a price tag of $350...

    Panoramic PTZ

I specifically asked Andy about whether the Auto tracking Light was human targets only and he assured me that it was capable of tracking vehicles. I hope he was correct, as I plan to use my PTZ3E10X-T180 to cover an entry road and cul-de-sac where 90% of the targets are going to be vehicles. I...

Reset and Start Over with BlueIris

Status Report: It's been 10 days since I did a clean install of Blue Iris. Other than a single "Receive buffer bottleneck", which seems like a fluke since it was on my 2MP license plate camera, I've seen none of the issues that have been plaguing me for months on the releases newer than...

Reset and Start Over with BlueIris

I took the plunge and uninstalled Blue Iris and wiped out the related directories and registry settings before installing the latest version. Fingers crossed, but so far it seems to have eliminated the issues I was seeing before when trying to upgrade to releases newer than 5.7.8.3. Below I’ll...

Reset and Start Over with BlueIris

I'm glad I ran across this thread. I've been relucantly mulling over the idea of doing a complete removal and reinstall of Blue Iris to see if it gets rid of the numerous issues I see any time I try to upgrade to a release higher than 5.7.8.3. Here are just a few of the weirdnesses I've seen...

    Question about Alert retention

When it comes to alerts, I like having my alert images around for at least the last couple of months. What works for me is having a secondary alert folder named Alerts30Plus. For the Alerts folder I limit the clip age to 30 days, and set it to Move to folder Alerts30Plus. Originally I started...

Disabling sub stream causes UI3 to show a cropped image of the camera.

In case anyone runs across this issue, here is Ken's response... Alright thanks, I found the bug and that will be fixed for 5.9.9.7. It was a memorized frame size in the "all cameras" group. You can reset this today by going into layout edit mode (with "All cameras" selected), then do a mouse...

I have. Ken is already looking at it.

Disabling sub stream causes UI3 to show a cropped image of the camera.

Here's some additional information/observations... The cropped image issue survives a system reboot. Manually triggering 6+ cameras via a right-click>"Trigger now" caused the "Receive buffer bottleneck" to occur on one of the cameras that had its sub stream disabled, so apparently only having...

Disabling sub stream causes UI3 to show a cropped image of the camera.

Looks like I'm going to be contacting Blue Iris Support. I pretty much use UI3 exclusively, but I do have the Android BI app. It is also showing the cropped image.

Disabling sub stream causes UI3 to show a cropped image of the camera.

I've experienced a few instances where the video for a particular camera has lagged significantly behind my other cameras. When I've looked at a camera's settings while one of these events was happening the Status section of the General tab has shown a "Receive buffer bottleneck" warning. Based...

Is BI acting weird for anyone else? one camera sees a truck other 3 cameras see nothing?

Well, as I had expected, going from 1Mbps upload speed to 1Gbps upload speed has made the problem go away for me. We activated my fiber service yesterday, and this morning I upgraded BI to the latest version, v 5.9.0.6. I've had zero instances of the multi camera freeze when several cameras...

Is BI acting weird for anyone else? one camera sees a truck other 3 cameras see nothing?

After a lot of testing I'm convinced that the problem (at least in my situation) has to do with the CURL commands I'm using to send high resolution still alert images to Pushover, along with the limited upload bandwidth I get from my crappy DSL connection (1Mbps up, 12 Mbps down). Once I have 3...

Is BI acting weird for anyone else? one camera sees a truck other 3 cameras see nothing?

@Coldair what do you have defined as action items under the Camera Settings>Alert>On alert... on the cameras where you have seen the problem? Mine run curl to send an API request to Pushover.

Anyone else seeing a 100-second freeze of the live stream from a camera after confirmed alerts?

I don't think this can be attributed to AI settings. Yesterday I got a reply back from Ken saying that he thinks this has something to do with AI settings, and that he thinks release 5.8.9.5 is going to be highly stable. After reading the email I went ahead and upgraded to 5.8.9.5. I didn't...

Anyone else seeing a 100-second freeze of the live stream from a camera after confirmed alerts?

I would think that this would seem to indicate that the issue isn't specifically with AI confirmed alerts. I haven't run any tests on the latest release with AI disabled, but I suspect I would still see the behavior. When I have AI disabled, motion alerts trigger the "On alert" action defined...

@Coldair Check and see whether it matches the behavior I described in this post. From your video it looks like it might.

    Alerts play unrelated clips

Are you trying to play back the clip at normal speed, or a higher speed? On the newer releases in particular I usually see playback start at the wrong time if I'm trying to play back a clip faster than 2x speed.

Anyone else seeing a 100-second freeze of the live stream from a camera after confirmed alerts?

There is an issue that I keep seeing every time I try upgrading to a BI release higher than 5.7.8.3. On these newer releases (and I’ve tried most of them, including 5.8.9.3) after an AI confirmed alert is logged the alerting camera will often appear to freeze in the BI Console for a period of...

    Alert problem with latest update

I've found that on most of the recent BI updates I've tried (above 5.7.8.3) if I have my playback speed set above 2x and double-click an alert it will often start playback at the wrong time.

Net Time no longer sending anything. The debug view shows no activity.

When I built my current BI server I went with a clean install of Win 11 and was never able to get nettime working properly. I ended up following the instructions at Windows Server NTP Setup – Super-WiPHY to configure an NTP server in Windows itself.

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

Your post got me thinking, and after looking at the AI analysis details for a few events on the AI tab of the BI Status window I can see that the time shown in the BI log file is the sum of all of the times for all of the models used for the particular image that was used to produce the AI...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

16 hours since raising AI timeout to 60 seconds. Not one single "AI: not responding" entry in the BI log. Still don't understand why BI log file would show response times ranging 200-900ms with the hardware I have. @snuuba what are the typical response times you see in your BI log WITH your...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

When I built this machine back in December I did a clean install of Win 11, BI 5.7.8.3, and CPAI 2.3.4. CPAI was running pretty much rock solid. I probably should have left it alone, but I wanted to bring things up to date and try out LPR's cropped plate feature. I just bumped the AI timeout...
