You can see that since I have changed the two Hikvision cameras to Motion Detection they stopped recording whereas other Dahua ones are recording Motion fine:

Here is what I have so far: IPC: NVR: After doing the above, now I do not see anything new being recorded :( although there is definitely a lot of activities.

    NVR5208-8P-4KS2E with Hikvision cameras

I have the same ONVIF configuration as you posted above and that is that I used to connect the NVR to the IPC (admin account). I am trying your suggestions above to see if I that changes anything. Thanks for the help

    NVR5208-8P-4KS2E with Hikvision cameras

Thanks wittaj if I have known that I would have picked my cameras wisely. The thing is I was using BlueIris first and all cameras worked as they are supposed to, I am really only looking for motion detection to not fill my disk space quickly, no super AI features just basic motion detection...

    NVR5208-8P-4KS2E with Hikvision cameras

Hi all, I have this NVR NVR5208-8P-4KS2E with 6 cameras, 4xIPC-B5442E-ZE and 2xDS-2CD2087G2-LU. I do not like the fact that I should use ONVIF when I connect the HikVision cameras (DS-2CD2087G2-LU) this is because none of the feature work with it, even something as simple as motion detection...

    NVR Recommendation

That’s awesome, I wasn’t sure what P2P meant. I will definitely test it out. This is what I was looking for :) thanks @bigredfish!

    NVR Recommendation

Thanks @Sybertiger for bringing this up, I thought this NVR would have one of these cloud services (i.e. Ring or Lorex) that does a reverse proxy to allow you to access your NVR/Cameras without port forwarding, VPN, etc. I guess I was wrong :( My current setup includes BlueIris running as a VM...

    NVR Recommendation

Thank you all for the recommendations. I went a head and purchased a NVR5208-8P-4KS2E. Andy confirmed it should work with both Hikvision and Dahua.

    NVR Recommendation

Hello all, I have 2x Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-LU and 4x Dahua IPC-B5442E-ZE 4MP IP Cameras. Currently I am using a standalone PoE switch and BlueIris. I am honestly tired of BI because its dedicated hardware requirements and complexity to manage. I would like to use a dedicated NVR with ample...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Can someone explain why the 4mm and the 6mm are the most popular options?

    Blue iris, why not virtualized?

Just wanted to share my updated performance metrics. Now I am running 5 cameras (4x IPC-B5442E-ZE and 1x DS-2CD2087G2-LU) all of cameras are utilizing DeepStack, which is also installed on the same server. BI is running as a service and minimized. My average is 25% CPU utilization and 32%...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

I finally got around to installing the 6mm and while adjusting the camera one of the T10 bolts snapped. I wasn't even done adjusting it and I didn't even apply a lot of pressure. Am I screwed?

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

At a height of 7ft, what distance would be best for a 6mm to capture faces?

    Blue iris, why not virtualized?

Thanks bp2008. It seems based on your feedback that my results are acceptable, which is great :D I am receiving a Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-LU 4K Super ColorVu this week. I will put it to test and see if I still get the same FPS/CPU stats.

    Blue iris, why not virtualized?

Each host has 2x Xenon X5650 CPUs and it is part of vCenter. I need to find out about sub streams, I do not know how they work. Thanks for bringing this up.

    Blue iris, why not virtualized?

Just wanted to share my results for running BI on vSphere 6.7. This is a fresh installation, so all configurations are default. Using 3 IPC-B5442E-ZE cameras, I get 26% CPU while BI is minimized and 60% while its maximized. VM has 8x vCPU and 16GB, and is running Windows 2016 Server. Is this...

Thanks for the feedback Teken. For C, I really care about whats on the right of the column (going up and down those stairs and walking to the right of the house) since the left area (driveway) will be covered by another camera. I will try tonight using no IR first and see if there is a...

Hi wittaj, I thought I did, here are the configs. However, I was unable to find where the noise configuration was.

Using the configurations above, I can't tell if IPC-D is bad because I didn't get a chance to see anyone walking by. As for IPC-C, I know it definitely needs some tweaking. When cars pass by there is a trail of smoke/shade behind them and when two people were walking by all I could see is a big...

Hi wittaj, I really appreciate your feedback and I am eager to implement it but excuse my ignorance, do these settings go into BI or the IPC configuration web portal? I am asking because I can't seem to locate any settings for shutter or gain from the IPC web configuration portal and I haven't...

Newbie here seeking advice (as all other noobs).

For IPC-D, by outward do you mean further down where the camera is pointing? or further out toward the driveway? For IPC-C, the doorbell covers that immediate space in front of the main door and any packages. This camera covers anyone attempting to go up the stairs and anyone walking toward the...

Update: I have successfully installed two IPC-B5442E-ZE cameras :D Please let me know your feedback on the image quality and position (I can move the cameras using the provided torx key). These are varifocal cameras, do you adjust the focal lenses from the web interface (under Settings > Zoom...
