Hi there,
I'm experiencing an issue when trying to access my Blue Iris cameras remotely using Tailscale VPN.
When I enter my Tailscale IP address as the WAN address in the Blue Iris app, the app automatically reverts this setting back to my ISP's IP address. This prevents me from properly...
Unfortunately the camera software requires characters and numbers. I did change the password to all numbers and one character because I was forced to.
Here is the screenshot:
I logged into the camera gui but there is no tab for ONVIF at all. In System > manage users there is only the ability to add users or group and select permissions such as live, PTZ, event, network, etc.
I have clicked every tab there is and there is nothing for ONVIF users
Thank you for your response. I finally got back over there to test this out. Everything works now except the 2 way talk. I can hear audio, PTZ works but I cannot talk through the speaker in the mobile app.
Additionally there is an error present for GetEvents. So I cannot get the ONVIF events...
I picked up this camera to install for my elderly parents. I am using BI5 latest version. I have had a hard time with this camera. After using find/inspect and letting BI configure the settings for the camera I have not been able to use the PTZ or the two way talk. I’ve changed models in video...
I will give it a shot. All of my cameras have a very large field of view, in comparison to the set up I had at my old postage stamp yard house in Virginia Beach. Thank you!
only dark.pt was set to run on the night profile, which is set to turn on relative to sundown in the schedule. I set it all up just like @sebastiantombs showed in his screenshots.
I tried to get my wife to call western state psychiatric hospital and tell them to tell him to call Martha at my phone number. she wouldn’t do it.
they won’t tell you if someone is in there because of HIPPA privacy laws, but they will pass a phone number to the patient for them to call...
So update on the non motion detection at night issue:
I did fix it as I mentioned before. I have however switched to using only BI motion detection at night. Deep stack is timing out on all alerts at night…! I think it’s because my computer is just too old for these cameras. I’ll build a cheap...
@sebastiantombs Thank you!! That helped a lot for me to understand what I needed to do.
So the suspect never came back to the property. The captain of the sheriffs office told me on feb 26 he knows who the suspect is in the video. At this time the sheriffs office will not release the name and...
Thank you for the suggestions and screenshots of your settings. I will send my wife out in the yard later this evening and we will be messing with the contrast instead of the object size as you have recommended.
I had no idea a product like the one linked existed. I am going to look more into...
Thanks guys, I finally figured out how to make schedules. I was way overcomplicating that.
How/where are you telling bi to use a custom module? I am looking at the artificial intelligence settings in the trigger tab. I only see an option to override the server and the input text field for the...
I am having the hardest time trying to understand how to make day and night schedules for bi where it will switch between schedules, profiles, deepstack and dark.pt model. Is there a tutorial on how to do this, or any part of this? I have tried to google stuff like "switch between day night...
I love to eat super hot peppers and talk gibberish for 20 minutes while drooling all over the place and/or rolling on the floor. But that high of a percentage of pure capsicum oleoresin… forget that!
if he breaks into the basement he’s screwed. There’s no entry to the living areas anymore...
I took your advice and made switched the front yard/front porch to main stream. Thanks.
I got a little friend for this guy if he decides to go full psycho. If it comes to that I’ll decide depending on the circumstances if I use that or if I pepper spray his dumb little face and then hit him...
Yeah, he’s absolutely insane!!
I did walk around and I am getting triggers and alerts again. It is satisfactory but I think it should be doing better. It will work for tonight. I also have a few trail cams in strategic places so I’ll get him on camera one way or another. That’s all the sheriff...
Thank you for your help!!
If you guys are interested to know about the vagrant/stalker that was in the picture, that has been visiting me for a few nights now, and doing weird stalker stuff... The captain of the sheriffs office paid me a visit to let me know the guy is actually a neighbor down...
Substreams are running and at the same framerate as mainstream.
CPU is at a comfortable 5-10%
I have not told BI to show cancelled alerts. I will do that now.
It's an amcrest IP5M-T1179EW-28MM. I have three of them.
This is shameful to admit, but could it also be my obsolete computer? Its an intel core i7-3770s and 16gb ddr3 ram.
Here are some snapshots of that particular cameras field of view (note that this is the low quality substream):

As for the motion settings, I just analyzed the video with the motion detector and the motion detector would have recorded this, if I wasn't using deepstack. Motion Settings:
Hi,
I didn't know there was a dark.pt model until just now. I'll look into it.
As far as mainstream, I played the clip back and it was very low quality. It was the sub stream recording that I was watching on playback for sure. Not sure where to look for the high quality version. It would...
Hi,
I set up Bi and Deepstack on my BI5 server. Everything seem to work satisfactorily during the day, as far as detection of motion. At night, it is not detecting anything.
The last few nights I have had an issue with a vagrant/stalker coming up to my house and casing entry points/walking...
Very true. My situation is only temporary with the phones. I realize even MAC address filtering may not be enough. And hopefully 99% of population can have cameras delivered in 2-3 days, unlike my situation of 8-10 days.
I guess I’ll just post what I’m doing for kicks and pokes
