Cat6, Fiber optics, or wireless bridge to shed

I'd go the preterm loose tube fibre optic myself, should not be expensive and will be rock solid + last forever, just get a pair of switches that have the SFP ports and you are golden.

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Funny you mention that, I walked into my folks garage and was bowled over by the stench from all the various oils and fuels, never even noticed while living there. of other note the Hydrogen side of things looks interesting, will be interesting to see how the first the first few fires go.

Finally installed my 2x IPC-HFW71242H-Z-X cameras

yeah they are amazing during the day, night vision's just not that good though I feel if you are serious about night vision you need both big sensor fixed and PTZ to good a good handle on things, the 12mp are fantastic for stuffing in corners and getting a 4:3 image, it's one thing I miss with...

Xprotect Triggering SMD PTZ with AutoTracking

well, it's odd, in the camera you add the Smart plan to a preset? it seems that Milestone then calls the preset, does this then trigger the smart plan for that preset?

Xprotect Triggering SMD PTZ with AutoTracking

    Milestone + Dahua IVS Rules

And a quick one I discovered the other day, the Essentials (Free version) does not offer Alarms, so ignore my suggestion of defining the Alarms, instead you are more or less restricted to doing Notifications or whatnot.

    Milestone + Dahua IVS Rules

We have this all working, as per above you cannot get the metadata into Xprotect without a corporate license, so instead you need to use the intrusion or tripwire rules, pretty simple stuff, in the case of the Version 4 camera's you need to do the following: 1, in the Camera go to Events, then...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

why are non-renewables the cheaper option? Subsidies https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/biden-budget-target-us-fossil-fuel-subsidies-2023-03-09/ with the Subsidies Fuel/Coal get you're paying for your product twice.. 10-50 Billion a year.. wow!

    Milestone + Dahua IVS Rules

it looks as though ONVIF does not support SMD directly and it has to be intrusion or a Dynamic event (Dynamic events are those outside the ONVIF standard inside the camera)...
  17. M

    Milestone + Dahua IVS Rules

I can't see vehicle or person detected as options.. I wonder if the camera needs to export this as an Event Type or if the ONVIF driver needs updating

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levelized_cost_of_electricity the price of electricity I'd like to pay for is that of Wind and Solar, especially when we start adding environmental impact levy's, I was under the impression everyone was unhappy with the cost of electricty and would be cheering on...

Can someone assist in getting Smart Motion Detection working on my 5442 ?

Bumping an old thread, I'd love to get this going however my interpretation is that for SMD to work without intrusion you need to have Xprotect Corporate, going to try fight with this over the next few weeks

    LPR for 160m/540f

wow, this thread delivers :) for some level of continuity I found the site had previously purchased an ancient SD49825XB-HNR which we're playing with, sadly with the 25x zoom and a bad mounting position it's getting some plate during the day but is not able to get close enough to the target...

anyone have any interesting idea's for a PTZ that'll have a strong enough IR and zoom to vaguely get human readable plates at 540 foot? maybe something like this https://www.dahuasecurity.com/au/products/All-Products/PTZ-Cameras/WizMind-Series/SD8A8C/8MP/SD8C848PA1-HNF...

hikvision nvr with xprotect essential+ help

That's correct, I suspect it's another issue... ironically the license change was anything newer than 2020R3, so anyone on those old Essential licences... it's now increased in value!
