    POOR MAN'S LPR FROM AMAZON

That fast shutter speed makes all the difference. Where I've got this camera, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

    POOR MAN'S LPR FROM AMAZON

Ok, here are a couple of pics. No problems day or night. Have a $90 NVR, it's working great. The only thing I'm concerned about is just getting the tag. I have other cameras that take care of everything else. Anyone out here for mischief? I've got them on film and can identify the vehicle.

    POOR MAN'S LPR FROM AMAZON

Yes, firmware. Prior to this, I've been unable to get consistent results. Apparently, the upgrade changed the configuration settings. I gave me a message during the update, but I only saw it flash briefly. The bottom line is that it works consistently in all light situations. I'll know in the...

    POOR MAN'S LPR FROM AMAZON

For what it's worth, I've just got cheap generic NVR's and recording on them via ONVF ports. They've improved dramatically over the last couple of years. For about $200, you can get a 16 channel NVR with a 12TB refurbished hard drive. To have this work so easily on this, it's quite pleasing...

    POOR MAN'S LPR FROM AMAZON

I was able to find the CMOS upgrade. I took the camera model from the old CMOS program, Googled it, found the website, pasted and searched, and then found and downloaded/installed it via browser. After upgrading, I'm getting this when I look at the camera via browser: Version Device...

    POOR MAN'S LPR FROM AMAZON

Got this cam Amazon.com First, the CMOS is quite old. Anyone know of an upgrade? Second, I've had varying results with this but never found a solution for 24 hours. Just looking to get license plates on this cam. It's on a dirt road and people cannot drive quickly.

    trying to configure nvr.

A bit more playing with it and I'm able to get 16 IP cameras on this NVR without using any of the POE ports. So no harm, no foul :). I'm converting all of my wiring to POE and using the splitters to power the cameras that aren't made for POE. For $25 you can get an 8 port POE switch. This...

    trying to configure nvr.

It sees the NVR, but none of the cameras. I've tried many iterations without avial. Thanks for trying brother! But at some point my time is worth too much. I bought two 16 camera NVR's with no POE ports. Putting 10 TB drives in them and forgetting it. I am running Blue IRIS as well on a...

    trying to configure nvr.

I'm trying to stream out the NVR's 172.xxx.xx.xx (NVR POE) cameras out to the 192.xxx.xx.xx network. If I could just disable the NVR POE camera address, I could use it as an 8 channel NVR, sucking in camera feed from the IP cameras on the network. Unfortunately, whoever set this up has my...

    trying to configure nvr.

I can see that this isn't just my issue. Apparently the NVR protects the addresses it assigns from the network. I don't have to to mess with it. For $80, I bought an HKVision NVR off Amazon. Has no ports, but I don't need them. The POE ports on the NVR are iffy and problematic.

    trying to configure nvr.

I bought this NVR on Amazon. Amazon.com It has 8 POE ports and supports a total of 16 cameras (8 plugged into the NVR's POE ports, and 8 more connected to my network. I can enter the IP addresses, which start with 192 and are assigned by my router's table. My router is 192.xxx.xx.1. The 8...
