Seeing IVS triggers on past events in BI?

I'm guessing the answer is no, but I can't remember if there is a way to see the triggers (blinking green lines) for an alert of IVS in a dahua 5442 in the past? I guess you can see it live in the web view, and maybe if recorded to an SD card (and maybe on an NVR), but can you see them for...

T54IR-ZE-S3 Firmware Upgrade - new features?

Oh! That's not what I expected! (and a major pain to do... not accessible, no extra appropriate cards...) So much for that idea... thanks!

T54IR-ZE-S3 Firmware Upgrade - new features?

I'm trying to set up the new feature in the 5542 firmware (experience database), and following Andy's ( @EMPIRETECANDY ) video, I get to the part where it asks me to Import Videos / Search but have no videos there even after an alert (I record to BI). What do I have to enable to get those...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

That sounds great... continue to alert on the deer, but ignore the racoon or opossum. (without trying to set minimum size, which is hard since it's relative to distance). A big deal (if I can figure it out!)

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

@EMPIRETECANDY does the new self learning firmware for the 5xxx s3 cams still have "animal" as an option to alert? (I assume so if the cat triggered it)

If you had this set up what would you use ?

If the cameras are connected to the POE switch, and that POE switch to your network, that's not ideal since all the camera traffic flows through your main network. Best if the cams, connected to a POE switch, then go to a NIC, not to your main network. Keep them separate. (if I understood you...

If you had this set up what would you use ?

While your map will work, this is better... add a second NIC (network card, can be cheap $15 card) to the PC running BI. The cameras get connected to that, and not to the internet. The original network card in the same PC gets the internet from your router or network switch.

If you had this set up what would you use ?

I use a Shelly smart switch on a lamp, and it can be alerted easily in Blue Iris. When the deer drop by, the lights go on. No need for Home assistant or anything, just the smart switch. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096W3ZZDD?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 set up an alert as...

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

@EMPIRETECANDY Hey Andy, does the latest (Dec '24) firmware update for the 5442 S3 on your site still have animal detection? ( I think this is newer than the "animals" version we got a ways back?....) Any reason to update from that one?

Cannot get ONVIF on new Dahua IPC-T54IR-AS to work with BI........need advice on what I may be doing wrong

My 4k-T won't trigger IVS in corridor mode with a similar view. I have another camera that looks at the same area, but with normal horizontal setup, and I have that camera triggering the 4k-t so I have alerts (and main stream video ) from it.

    IPC-Color4K-T180 troubleshooting

I don't know if this is relevant, but just in case there's some carryover: I have the same camera and had video drops, often, though not long ones like you see. Cam was perfect with short cable to my switch, but the 150 foot run had the errors. The cable tested fine like yours. At someone's...

IPC-Color4K-T180 Intermittent 'No Signal' in BI

I have same camera, and getting dropped signal maybe 20-30 times a day. dropped in recording also, so not just BI. I brought the camera inside and connected it to my switch directly, and the errors stopped, so I assumed it was the (outdoor, exposed) ethernet cable, and planned to replace when...

default camera for triggering an alert?

thanks, yes, that would also work. This way works fine, allows you to target a single camera easily... just have to tell it which one. But when it somehow changed to "default", I got some messy lockups, I'm assuming it was a loop that kept it triggered to itself.. So Just trying to figure out...

default camera for triggering an alert?

I have one camera set to trigger another in Blue Iris, using the "Configure command Action / Trigger" command and pointing to another camera. Works well, but for some reason on one cam the receiving "camera" choice changed to "default", instead of the intended cam. I think that might have...

separate exposure in half the 4kt180 cam?

Thanks, I thought it wasn't possible. I do have another cam, with IR, covering the half that's dark half at night, but was looking to improve it anyway.

separate exposure in half the 4kt180 cam?

Since I can't find this, I assume no, but is there any way to adjust the exposure settings in one half of the 4kt180 cam (like just the left one?) One side is much darker area, so being able to adjust that side would help....

    Camera recommendations for narrow corridors

My 4kt runs in corridor mode, but it would not let me rotate the image in camera at full res. But I can rotate it in Blue Iris after, with the camera still at full res. But using the 4Kt in corridor mode (sideways) makes IVS ineffective. (the camera doesn't trigger well using IVS when rotated)...

    Review: EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 / Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3 - 8MP / 4K Turret Camera

Thanks Wildcat, reading your post, I tried the following: I set the internal IR (of the 5442 ZE S3 with latest firmware ...animal) to either zero or one, (but on, with smart IR, on General) and have the scene illuminated by an external Tendelux IR light. If I wander into the field of view...

    Review: EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 / Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3 - 8MP / 4K Turret Camera

regarding the IR exposure adjustments, are these are done by adjusting the IR output rather than aperture? Some of us use an external IR light to deal with bugs, spiders, rain and snow, etc, so there is no auto adjust of those lights. Is there any thought to adding any aperture adjust to help...

I have created a way to use TP-Link Kasa lights for motion detection lighting through Blue Iris

As far as I can tell, something broke the Kasa file. But with the superb assistance of @TonyR , I was able to use a Shelly US plug https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096W3ZZDD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 instead of the Kasa and get it working with Blue Iris alerts just like the Kasa did...

Empiretech color 4k-t 3.6mm latest firmware - OnVif events not triggering

I had the same issue where the 4kt would not trip much, or at all, in "corridor mode" (turn 90 degrees). My solution is to have another camera that sees the same area, but is horizontal, provide the triggers to the 4kt that is in corridor mode. (in the horizontal camera's alerts, have the...

    Detecting wildlife with Dahua cameras

The latest versions of the Empire tech (Dahua) T54IR-ZE-S3 (varifocal), or the T54IR-AS S3 (fixed focal), combined with the latest firmware, do an excellent job of alerting on animals using the internal IVS triggers. Combine that with Blue Iris (onvif) and it works very well. Mine reliable...
