Hikvision NVR with Motion Detection 2.0 for various IP cameras

Ok, I will also look at the Dauha ones. I have a NVR4XXX-4KS2L and as far as I could see it ins not available on these, and most of the Hikvision ones support Motion Detection 2.0 which I suspect has the functionality that I am looking for. I did the firmware fix on my NVR and can now see and...

Hikvision NVR with Motion Detection 2.0 for various IP cameras

I am not trolling, and and it was a genuine question, and I was not aware that this was a Dahua forum. That is why I put the question under the Hikvison thread as there is one. I know that my Dahua NVR will not do person detection on a RTSP stream and that is why I am asking about Hikvision's NVR.

Hikvision NVR with Motion Detection 2.0 for various IP cameras

Thanks I will check if there is a RTSP fix for my NVR. Previously when I checked I could not enter the RTSP stream address manually, so it did not work. I will also check if there is a different user/pass for ONVIF on the camera. (previously it would show detected on NVR, but it would not...

Hikvision NVR with Motion Detection 2.0 for various IP cameras

Ok, so technically if the cameras support rtsp it would work at 1080p for all channels? Are ONVIF cameras also supported? (I was under the impression that my Dahua NVR would be able to record video (only record) from RTSP and ONVIF cameras, but the software prevents me from connecting other...

Hikvision NVR with Motion Detection 2.0 for various IP cameras

Maybe someone with more experience with Hikvision hardware can shed some light on this subject. I am trying to figure out if a Hikvision NVR with Motion Detection 2.0 would be able to detect motion and identify person/vehicle using a video stream from a random IP camera. I have searched the web...

Record RSTP Stream using Dahua NVR

Hi I have searched google and the forums, but I cannot find an answer. I have a Wyze Cam V3 flashed with RTSP firmware. The camera outputs a RTSP stream and I can view the stream using VLC media player, but I cannot get my Dahua NVR to add the camera stream. The stream format is...

    EZVIZ camera on DAHUA NVR

I suppose they removed the functionality to encourage you to use their cameras. The RTSP connection string is also fixed, so you cannot even use RTSP as the string differs for different cameras.

    EZVIZ camera on DAHUA NVR

Hi, I have the same problem. The camera shows up and I can add it, but the NVR will not connect to the camera. I can view the camera's RTSP stream on VLC Media player, but the NVR cannot access it. I am sure it should be possible to add it as it has been possible on previous versions of Dahua...

    Dahua local vs remote connection

I think this would be a viable option. I am going to look into this, thanks.

    Dahua local vs remote connection

Accessing homeassistant does not require al lot of bandwith. Using cloudflare made more sense than setting up a local VPN just to open the homeassistant GUI. When I set up homeassistant remote access with cloudflare, streaming was not something I needed so it was the easiest thing to do at the...

    Dahua local vs remote connection

" If you use a paid VPN that masks your IP address for illegal streaming and porno then yes your traffic would go thru VPN wherever you are. This is what you think VPN is....but that is not what we are referring to. " This is what I was referring to when I said that I do understand. I am...

    Dahua local vs remote connection

A quote from security.org: " Do VPNs Slow Down Connections? The simple answer is yes, every VPN slows down your connection to some degree. That’s because all the encryption to secure your internet connection takes time to code and decode. Some encryption methods and protocols slow down devices...

    Dahua local vs remote connection

I understand exactly what a local VPN server is. I am not referring to a cloud / remote hosted / paid VPN service when I talk about traffic going through a VPN. I am referring to traffic passing through and getting encrypted locally on your own VPN server. Encrypting data even when done locally...

    Dahua local vs remote connection

The issue is that I do not want local traffic to go through the VPN as it seems counter intuitive to secure / encrypt local traffic and in the process slowing it down. There would probably be a way to do this, and I thought that maybe someone has figured it out.

    Dahua local vs remote connection

Ok, thanks, I will read up a bit more on VPN's. My understanding was that if you use a VPN server - client configuration, all traffic passes through the server and it encrypts the traffic and that would slow it down even if it is done locally.

    Dahua local vs remote connection

I think maybe I am not explaining my problem properly or maybe I need to do more research, but my problem is not creating a secure method of connecting to my cameras, but more of a routing problem. (security is important for the remote connection, but I do not want local traffic to also go...

    Dahua local vs remote connection

I did look at setting up a vpn, but would that not give me the same result? If I use vpn the local traffic (as I understand) would also pass through the vpn so it would still be slow as I will not have a "local" connection when on my local network.

    Dahua local vs remote connection

Hi I have Dahua cameras that I use with sd cards for intrusion detection and it is working quite well, but I have a problem with the app and SmartPSS. The issue is that when I am on my local network I need to stream the cameras locally and when I am not on my local network I need to still be...

    Camera advice needed

Are there any pro's / con's to going with hdcvi vs ip? It has been a while since I've had anything to do with analogue cameras and if I remember correctly you needed extra baluns for connecting analogue cameras to the DVR, otherwise the video quality would be horrible.

    Camera advice needed

I basically would like to be notified when someone enters the area. Another option at a similar price as 2 cameras would be 2 hdcvi cameras (much cheaper) and a DH-XVR1B08H-I dvr that has AI built in. (8ch) The main function is intrusion detection with the least amount of false alarms.

    Dahua motion detection confusing specs

I only need to monitor 4 to 8 cameras max and I only need line-crossing with person/vehicle detection. To buy a used pc with decent spec and BI would cost 2 - 4 times what a decent NVR would cost. (prices are very inflated here) Optiplex 7080 with I5 and 8gb ram and 256 ssd used is about R9.5k...

    Dahua motion detection confusing specs

Thanks for the reply. I understand the different functionalities available, but my problem is the documentation is very confusing. Some of the nvrs seem to have basically the same features, but one would cost double the price of the other. Eg.: If I want something that can detect line-crossing...

    Dahua motion detection confusing specs

Hi I would like to buy a Dahua DVR/NVR for use with different IP cameras, but their specs and marketing material is very confusing. The NVR/DVR's they list have WizSense, SMD, SMD Plus, AI by camera etc, but I am not sure if the detection/processing is actually done by the NVR/DVR or the camera...
