HA-DB-6I (OEM) Dahua Doorbell Camera "Failed Connection" issues

Just solved a mystery with my OEM HA-DB-6I (Dahua DB6I-CAN) Doorbell Camera. I installed this OEM Dahua camera about two years ago. Initially I had to upgrade my doorbell transformer from 10VAC (13.8VAC no load) to a 16VAC 10VA transformer, but it worked perfectly for over a year and a half...

OEM Dahua NVR - Newest Web UI design is a disaster - NVR-NV42A16-P16-4K-S2L

You are both on to something. I will give it a go again, except this time I will check the web console before restoring the configuration. As for default resolution, I tried switching it but it has no impact on the web interface. To avoid any confusion in this conversation, I am differentiating...

OEM Dahua NVR - Newest Web UI design is a disaster - NVR-NV42A16-P16-4K-S2L

Well that went as well as I expected. Backed up the config, reset to factory defaults, restored config, and I'm right back to where I was. Display is still as wonky as before.

OEM Dahua NVR - Newest Web UI design is a disaster - NVR-NV42A16-P16-4K-S2L

No, I haven't done that yet. Documentation does seem to suggest performing a factory reset after a firmware update, so I will give it a try. As for why not update to Dahua?; because I don't have another $1000+ lying around... but at least I can warn others not to make the same mistake. Anyway...

OEM Dahua NVR - Newest Web UI design is a disaster - NVR-NV42A16-P16-4K-S2L

My surveillance product vendor's supplier, Ameta Group, is very difficult to communicate with, even through the vendor. I ask a question and rarely get an answer. Usually it goes into a black hole unless I am annoyingly persistent, and then it's usually a non-answer like "we'll get back to you"...

DH-DB6I Doorbell warning, DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!

No, that's the non CA version unfortunately.

DH-DB6I Doorbell warning, DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!

Apologies, but I got this way too late - can you possibly send me a copy of this binary? I tried the wayback machine and found the page where they initially listed this binary, but the wayback machine didn't archive the file itself, only the page. Not sure if this is the same symptom, but before...

Anyone here write ONVIF code? How does Dahua request an ONVIF sub-stream profile?

Here is my setup: I have a Dahua NVR42A16-P16-4K-2SL NVR. I have written my own firmware for an ESP32-CAM board and am now streaming to my NVR. The problem: In the Live view, if I click on the Camera button (in this example, Channel 8), I get the spinning circle of death and nothing happens...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

It's ok. I removed the ptz dome and hit reset. Took me an hour to re-do all the presets, tour, schedule, and IVS rules, but it's back to where it was when I started all this nonsense. Video system is on a private network anyway, so I think I'll let sleeping dogs lie.

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

I turned on HTTPS on the web nvr web interface and for one of my cameras but now when I hit the blue IO button to configure it, I get a message Please use https to access I would have thought it would continue to connect through to the camera using the same session, but instead it drops down to...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

Bigredfish: I was using the blue IE icon to log into my cameras as you suggested in your post, then one day while screwing around with installing certificates (to avoid the "Your connection is unsecure" message), I somehow accidentally disabled these blue IE icons. Now, no matter what I do, I...
