    Daylight Savings Time woes.

I had a similar problem as well, just figured it out. It looks like it is a bug in the firmware of certain cameras when DST is enabled on both the NVR and the cameras. When daylight saving time was in effect, the NVR was sending the correct updated time to the cameras, and then the cameras were...

    Cam on vlan

I guess it really depends on the switch (how they implement vlans) and what kind of traffic is on your network. But in my opinion I would keep your cams on a separate vlan, and maybe have one port that is allowed on both the cam vlan and computer vlan for access to the cams. This will be more...

Updated NVR firmware published - NVR_78_79_EXX_V3.4.80_160718.zip

Yes that makes sense, should have thought about that. It did the trick! Working like a charm. Thanks.

Updated NVR firmware published - NVR_78_79_EXX_V3.4.80_160718.zip

I tried that too, still no luck. :-( I'm wondering if this is an IE plugin issue? I had upgraded that after installing the new firmware as well.

Updated NVR firmware published - NVR_78_79_EXX_V3.4.80_160718.zip

I updated to 3.4.90 and that little icon to see events on your playback timeline in web gui is grayed out and not clickable for me.. I have two Hik cameras (DS-2CD2342WD-I) so it should work right? Any idea why it is grayed out for me? (see attached screenshot)

What ports are really required for accessing cameras remotely (via mobile app)?

I would like to add that after doing some testing, live view on the iVMS-4500 mobile app works fine with just port 8000 open, but you definitely do need port 80 (or 443 if using https) to do do remote configuration from your device or set push alarms. With port 80 shut down, from my iOS device...

What ports are really required for accessing cameras remotely (via mobile app)?

I've been doing various searches and there is a lot of mixed info out there. Currently I have these three ports opened up and it is working properly, but I want to shut anything down that's not required: Port 80 TCP Port 8000 TCP Port 554 TCP and UDP If I'm not using a NVR and just viewing the...

General question about motion detection and NVR's

Oh wow thanks I was just looking at the iVMS-4500 app in the app store and was going to ask that question. So my main requirements are: -record everything -log motion detection -ability to get the camera feeds and motion detection information remotely through app or browser. So other than...

General question about motion detection and NVR's

Thank you for the answers, this is what I figured. Does this mean I am not able to see motion detection info in any way remotely, I need to view it on a TV? Or is there an app I can use or some other way to see motion events in the timeline over the network?

General question about motion detection and NVR's

I know most systems can be set to record when there is motion detection, or they can always be recording. But what I would like, is to have the NVR record everything, but notify me the times there is motion, so I can go back and look at what was happening during those times. This would enable...
