    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

As others are saying; unfortunately not working; just one of the many "quirks" of the Dahua ecosystem. If it would work there wouldn't be a problem; but the fact this toggle is present but not working if very annoying. Dahua shouldn't put it there if it's not working as it should. This results...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

Yes, that's why I was so happy when Andy came with the new firmware for the S3 camera's. But I'm also considering building an Unraid NAS/server (replacing an old Qnap NAS) and think about running Frigate. Less dependance on detection capabilities of Dahua camera's.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

@EMPIRETECANDY So just to check; there is no new 180/dual lens IR camera coming? (Like the Color4K-T180 but with IR or dual light instead of visible LED only or like a 180/dual lens version of the Color4M-T?) It is a shame animal detection is so little of importance; I mean the checkbox is even...

    Camera recommendations for Europe

To be fair; I haven't bought anything from Andy lately, it's all camera's I won with the lotteries. ;) Including his last lottery. I don't think I have any paperwork of these import costs still around, but I can check tomorrow.

    Camera recommendations for Europe

Didn't know he had 2 different shipping methodes. All things from him came delivered in about a week to The Netherlands with often a ~€10 import cost (from the shipping company; via a letter through the post about a week later)

Can 1 cat5e power two ip cams?

I've been using this one from Aliexpress for 1+ year to feed a 5442 and 5231, powered by a TP-Link POE-switch. Working fine so far. EDIT: can't seem to link to Aliexpress (forum gives me an error), but it's those cheap €10-15 white POE extender things. EDIT #2: something like this:

    Dahua Turret as bird camera

Just to give an update. I made a simple birdhouse and installed it on April 5. Unfortunately no takers. I think it was the next day one bird stood in the entry hole but left immediately. Since this camera's IVS can only detect humans and vehicles (and no animals), I use simple motion detection...

    Looking for POE nest cam

You could also use one of @EMPIRETECANDY 's regular IP camera's. I used a surplus IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2. I opened it up, removed the glue that's on the lens thread and refocused the lens. Easy to do if you have the camera powered on and use live view to focus the lens. I made a simple box and...

    DHI-NVR4108-P-4KS2 firmware update

Well, the NVR is working fine so if the new firmware doesn't have some major/usefull improvement; probably not going to do that.

    Dahua WizColor COMING SOON!

I would love to see a dual sensor/lens/180 version of the IPC-T54IR-AS-S3/IPC-Color4M-T. The current 180 models require visible LED or enough natural light to work; I don't like visible LED's and don't have enough light. (Funnily enough; my T54IR camera's switch to B/W much sooner at the end of...

    DHI-NVR4108-P-4KS2 firmware update

I have a NVR-4116HS-4KS2, this one: https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/All-Products/Discontinued-Products/Network-Recorders/NVR4104/4108/4116HS-4KS2 Just for shits I checked it's firmware version; and it's System Version 4.000.0000.4 with Build Date 2019-11-29. @EMPIRETECANDY has...

    EmpireTech 2025 Spring Sales March.18th-23rd

Must be "interesting" times for businesses like you right now..to put it mildly... He sort of did; Andy has a Amazon.de store: Amazon.de But not much in stock though... Personally; I would love it if we could buy from his online store directly instead of email. But in the end; for us EU...

    EmpireTech 2025 Spring Sales March.18th-23rd

Is this going to effect prices for EU customers? Anyway; my price got delivered this morning! Thanks @EMPIRETECANDY :thumb: That's only 2 days shipping! :wow: And I was able to track the very airplane going from Guangzhou to Bangalore, Dubai and finally Liege. AVgeek in me was happy.

    EmpireTech 2025 Spring Sales March.18th-23rd

6th place winner! Another T54IR S3, this time the fixed lens. I might swap an older 5231 ZE with this one. Always interested in a "full color" or T180 camera so will continue to take part in the lottery until I win one! Ha! ;) As for specifying lens choice for the camera I won, I just reply on...

    Dahua Turret as bird camera

Well, I have some progress. I have opened up the camera. Separting the 'bal' from the base was tricky until I found the way how; then the base went off right away. I removed the glue from the lens and now I can indeed refocus the lens. And I'm able to focus in really close; like 10cm. from the...

    Dahua Turret as bird camera

Yes, those topics gave me the idea to refocus this camera. But I'm wondering if it will even be able to focus thát close to the camera. It needs to focus to, let's say, 10-20cm. at most.

    Dahua Turret as bird camera

I have a spare IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2; this one: https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/All-Products/Discontinued-Products/Network-Cameras/IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2=S2 I don't have a real use for it (at the moment) and I've been thinking of using it as a camera in a bird house. But obviously this would...

    EmpireTech 2025 Spring Sales March.18th-23rd

Tempting. ;) But I just replaced a IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2 (that I won with your lottery) with a T54IR-ZE-S3 (that I won). I've yet to find a use for the 2431 (birdhouse cam maybe; spring is around the corner). And there's also the older T54IR-ZE (non S3) that I ordered for family that's still in...

T54IR-ZE-S3 Firmware Upgrade - new features?

So that 3rd option is basically used to exclude certain animals from triggering? So if you have cats, dogs and stone martens running around the house and you want to trigger for all animals except stone martens; you can use that option for that? It would be usefull in a slightly different way...

    Replace camera, keep NVR recordings

Thanks. You're were right. In fact; I gave the new camera the same IP adress and login credentials (for convenience) and the NVR automatically picked it up and started recording again like nothing happened. The S3 will be a nice upgrade. That part of our yard was a "dead spot" since the S2 did...

    Replace camera, keep NVR recordings

I have a NVR4116HS-4KS2 with several camera's, including 1 IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2. I want to replace that camera with a IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3. However, I would like the keep the NVR's recordings from this camera. I haven't tried it, but I think if I... add the S3 camera to the NVR (on say channel 5)...

As far as I know the two of us aren't clones, so not the same NL guy this time!;) Thank you Andy and thank you wittaj for joining and thus increasing our odds! This can replace the IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2 I won from a previous lottery at the (outside of the) chicken coop. For some reason that...

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

Pretty big deal this, especially when you remember the Unifi Video saga... A 16ch Dahua NVR is about the same price as the Ubiquiti NVR. If they work well together, you could combine the best of both worlds; the superior Dahua camera's with the superior Ubiquiti NVR. (and Ubiquiti app/ecosystem).

Review- EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 4mp Varifocal Turret

I must say, the animal detection update has been working wonderfully. It's detecting more animals and/or is more sensitive to them than my old 5231. (Just last night; the 5231 did show a green box on a cat but did not trigger). But I must dial in the video settings (shutter etc.). I followed...
