    Long distance camera install guidance

Just a heads up on running 2 pairs of 22ga wires over 600ft. If you used a poe injector at 48vdc the voltage drop is just under 10 volts so you could easily do this if you needed to. Running cables designed for it is obviously the ideal way to go but thought you may be interested.

Anyone using IPhone IOS Dahua Apps IDMSS or Easy4IP?

The difference maybe that my stream is coming from Blue iris and not my Dahua NVR. When I get a chance i'll try the stream from the NVR to see if it doesn't like the altered sub stream. it's a NVR4216-4k so will be very similar to yours.

I just tested changing the settings in IDMSS Lite and it is still working for me. The picture looks pretty crappy at this setting though.

You could just get an active splitter with the active injector. If you go the 2 core cable route, go to an auto electrician or electronics store maybe.

An active injector inserts ~48v dc into the ethernet cable and an active splitter drops the voltage back down to 12v dc for the camera. If you used a passive splitter you would be putting ~48v dc into your camera which would let the smoke out :)

This is how I run a cam that does not support POE. I am using 20ga wire, I suggested 16ga wire to make sure it works. It is the cheapest way to get it up and running.

The 12v adapter voltage will be dropping to about 10.5 volts over the 10 meters of your 26ga ethernet cable. An active POE will inject 48v into the ethernet cable and drop the voltage back down to 12v at the camera. If you use a 2 core 16ga wire to power the camera it will get 11.8v at the...

Run a 2 core 16ga separate wire to the camera from the adapter.

The current that the adapter can supply makes no difference if the voltage drop is the problem which in this case it is.

Run a 2 core 16ga separate wire to the camera from the adapter if your camera has a separate 12v input.

What voltage is your 1000ma adapter? If it is 12v then the voltage drop over 10m will be significant.
