Thanks, I'm going to get the HS model then. Looks cleaner and has one USB on the front. Also it's better suited to put other equipment on top of it. @mat200: I have very few places where I could legally mount a camera, so I'll go with the 4-port version for now. More good hints, thank you. What is the typical use for the Alarm in/out interface? Enable recording when external alarm is triggered, or rather start the alarm when the camera is triggered?
