    Low Resolution Alerts

Hello, my BI install has been stagnant for quite some time. Long story short with the previous google security updates my alerts had stooped working etc. Well I just got around to getting everything up to date, updated BI, etc. I also changed from Deepstack to CodeProject AI. The AI seems to...

logging wifi mac-addresses to help catch shoplifters and unpaid tabs.

Randomized MAC address just creates a randomized MAC Address for that specific SSID / network profile. When you return / reconnect to that same SSID your phone will still be using the same Randomized MAC unless you manually force it to generate a new one.

    Reverse Proxy + Dahua NVR

You can make it super secure by using firewall rules to only allow a set of whitelisted IPs access the reverse proxy. For instance my reverse proxy is HAProxy within my pfSense firewall. HaProxy has an ACL that only allows a defined group of public IPs Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Yea they shatter nicely. He was all surprised at how much it shattered and I'm like yea dude its tempered glass. Its designed to do that so it doesn't cut you to pieces in an accident. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

I have exactly what you're describing with a camera on the opposite corner of the house. The other camera is still blocked by the truck. You're literally looking at the far corner of my driveway. The pavement ends where that truck is parked. Even if I had a 50k budget for cameras there's not...

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

Really? Explain please lol. I own 6 feet of grass on the other side of that truck. Id love to know how you'd have gotten any more useful video than that. Mower, operator, deflector up, audio, and visible glass break all in frame. Jeez P.S. I have more than 1 camera with view of the truck but...

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

Our property deeds actually have deed restrictions saying no fences. But the corporation that was able to enforce it is long gone and some people on the road with the same deed have privacy fences. I may just put one up length of my driveway where cars are regularly parked. Sent from my...

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

There was a rock laying in the pile of broken glass. Impossible to prove that "the" rock. Havent vacuumed the truck out yet its full of glass too. Could even be in the truck not sure. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

Yea honestly I was surprised how dull the impact on the glass sounded. I kind of assumed it was just because the glass was on the opposite side of the truck from the camera and the mower noise drowns it out. But now that you mention it I probably could tweak the audio. Ive never really messed...

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

I found a used window for $50. I'm not dealing with any legalities. I'm just going to have a conversation with him and ask him to be more careful and put the rock guard down. I just thought the video was amusing. People just so oblivious to their actions and their effect on other people. Sent...

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

Yea. Guard locked up. And its been hovering around 70 degrees around here so no hot cold thing. You can hear the blades hit and the impact on the glass Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

Lol there's no doubt. His mower with stone guard up hit something (audio verified) while aimed at my truck and you can visibly see the glass break at the same time. There's zero doubt here. Im going to be having a discussion with him because if a rock hits somebody including one of my kids its...

Neighbor "i didn't break your window"

My truck was sitting in my driveway with no broken window. Neighbor cuts grass now my window is broken. Neighbor us always blowing grass all over my truck and blocks the rock guard up. Asked him to come look at my broke window "no way it was me I didn't hit anything"....cuts grass at like 1"...

    Chia Cryptocurrency

I'm doing it and so far its been a bust. A real pain in the ass, no real indicator of how much "luck" is involved etc. I have almost 18TB of plotted space filled. One thing that's irritating me is the lack of troubleshooting / explainations. Right now I'm trying to figure out why lookup...

5442 4MP Starlight Day / Night switching issues

If the schedule was able to reference the sun based on latitude and longitude it would be useful. Otherwise it's worthless. Nobody is going to go back in there every month or two to adjust. I'll just have to use the utility like I use at my other two Networks Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

5442 4MP Starlight Day / Night switching issues

I was going to try that but I must be having some operator error going on. Those settings are greyed out for me. Only if I set the profile to "general" do those options become changable for me. Maybe I'm not aware of what profile scheme I should actually be using.

5442 4MP Starlight Day / Night switching issues

Yea I'm aware of the option. I'm using it on 2 other networks with older dahua cams. I just cant believe in 2020-2021 Dahua can't write firmware that can correctly handle the job of switching profiles depending on ambient light. The firmware should have a "buffer" built in to eliminate...

5442 4MP Starlight Day / Night switching issues

Good evening. Have any of you had issues with the 5442 switching repetitivley back and forth between Day and Night profile at dusk? I have one that will just keep bouncing between Day mode / Color, and Night mode B&W for like 15 minutes around dusk time. I know about the sunrise / sunset...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

I'm aware. Ive already had 4 2MP Z12s deployed for years. My states plates are way way way harder to capture than yours. I could be wrong but I believe the 5442 series will provide better results in my case. My states plates are flat (no texture) with metalic gold letters / numbers on metallic...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

Yea I already have some 5442s and they are incredible. My states license plates are extremely difficult to read because of the non textured, low contrast nature of the plates. In looking at hundreds of captures from 5231s im pretty certain increased resolution would have at least helped in some...

Well then for the existing ones I'll just keep the focus script running. No sense in replacing the cam just for that. I have another location I want to add to LPRs to but I'm hoping to get into a 4mp starlight this time around. I dont think the 5442 series has a z12 yet though does it? Sent...
