Just a comment on the durability of these cameras. I dropped one about 5 feet onto concrete and it still works fine! Yes the case is scarred and lost some paint but camera work. Impressed so far!

Does anyone have any advice about leaving the desiccant (water absorbing) packets inside the cameras when they are in use? I like the idea of absorbing excess moisture but I do not want to cause overheating or any other problems.

Well after attempting a reset the problem persists. It happens using 12 power supply and using poe. It looks like i will have to contact Andy for an exchange

It is powered through PoE switch and I did get it from Andy. I will try the reset option later today...

Not wifi and same cables and switch ports used to test other cameras both before and after this one

So i got 4 of these cameras and 3 of them seem ok but 1 has an issue. I am unable to connect to it using browser and the default 192.168.1.108 address. If i ping -t that address i get 4 time outs then 2 responses then 4 time outs then 2 responses....no other devices with.108 are connected...

Ok, so why would they bother making the PAL version at all? Not trying to be difficult, just want to understand why they would go through the effort when they could just release one version

Why do they make two versions? What am I missing if it makes no difference in IP cameras?

A very Noob question, but since these are IP cameras, is PAL/NTSC relevant? Does it matter which one I choose?

@nayr I know it is generally not a good idea to update firmware just because but given the recent backdoor issue, it sounds like I should upgrade my cameras (5231 turrets) to this new firmware as soon as I get them from Andy? Probably a good idea to check for an NVR (5216 non PoE) update in...
