    Blue Iris Camera Compatibility.

@TonyR Thanks for the great idea on usage of this camera. I need one pointing at all hardware in my closet to help my wife troubleshoot when I'm away from the house HAHAHA

    Wyze Cam v3

Throwing my name in the hat as well. I'm currently testing the wyze v3 cameras flashed with RTSP firmware in a remote location. Setting it up was a little more tricky having to create a hotspot from my phone for internet access as it's required to "register" each camera and do the setup in the...

My UPS Caught Fire Last Night

This happened last month. This was after I pulled this out of my units. Temps were a lot higher than this and one battery bulged out enough to crack and leak gas out. It smelled of burning plastic inside my study. I had no load (nothing plugged into the unit). Youtube revealed that this was a...

    Front Door Camera Location

It may help to show us a overall picture of the view from the doorway and how people walk up to the door. Straight path? is there coverage? streetview, sunrise/sunset location.

    Front Door Camera Location

Wedge should be fine. Might be able to mount it on the side wall instead of the door frame for a cleaner install.

    Recording 24/7 and saving clips

Pretty sure you can. It's all in the recording settings. Not sure if cloning is needed. More knowledgeable folks will chime in.

Looks like hp z-240’s are coming off lease (i7-6700).. are they good?

It's pricey for my blood and has no OS or storage to boot. 300 computer shipped 100 for Windows 10 80-100 for SSD/M.2 How long do you want to keep your recordings for? 160+ for 10TB 90+ for 6TB 70+ for 4 TB The above prices are really good deals if you can find them but you would be hardpressed...

    Critique my network layout

Ughh.. Why didn't I think of roaming capabilities..although not a necessity but it is extremely convenient. I do not think my current AP supports it. Great info and the Unifi setup looks extremely user friendly. More reading and research to do. Thanks for the help!

    Critique my network layout

Attached is a rough idea of how my network is laid out currently What can I do to make it more efficient and secure? The modem, wifi router (NetGear R7000), switches (DLink DES1526 and TPLinks), and NASes are located in the far end of the house and I have aTP Link EAP225 access point on the...

Camera recommendations for inside 2 car garage?

I've used your recommendation of the above Amcrest for the Family Room and it's been solid. Loving the price of a rebadged Dahua especially when you can get them second-hand for cheaper. I may get another one and put it in the garage if I cannot find the Dahua cube for cheaper.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I honestly, think this an easier alternative for those who are not network savvy like myself. I've been trying to wrapmy head around subnetting and vlan's but dual NICs just seem easier to comprehend ATM.

What is everyone using for VPN service provider?

When connecting to your VPN (OpenVPN or similar) your connection speed is dependent on your ISP's upload speed, correct? My ISP service is a 400d/10u so I connect in remotely to my network so my max download speed is roughly around my ISP's upload limit. One night I was thinking that maybe my...

Reconfiguring my BI server since the SSD took a dump, I just need a quick confirmation: for the VPN on my Netgear R7000, I just port forward the router to BI Server correct? Keep it at port 81 by default? when would you change the port number? UPnP is also disabled and BI app works on my...
