Critical flaws found in Amcrest security cameras - Amcrest Hid info for 18 months

Thanks, this keeps the bi server time updated. How do i pass this to the cams for their native time/date to remain updated? On some cams i use the native cam software to provide date/time, instead of blueiris

Critical flaws found in Amcrest security cameras - Amcrest Hid info for 18 months

Hi, the cameras have reserved ip addresses outside DHCP range. The camera's UI is set to STATIC IP. it's forcing a gateway of same segment. Can't leave it blank. I'm thinking though a gateway circular reference to it's own ip would sufficiently block access to internet.... i hope.

Critical flaws found in Amcrest security cameras - Amcrest Hid info for 18 months

OK will test. I don't connect directly to cams. I do see some timedrift, so i'm hoping the router blacklisting was working all along. Network is behind a VPN. Also need to look into a local time server... seen references to that as as solution. The camera UI is forcing a Gateway address of the...

Critical flaws found in Amcrest security cameras - Amcrest Hid info for 18 months

Thanks. Will removing the gateways cause any other issues? I imagine I should still be able to access the cams for adjustments on their native UIs.

Critical flaws found in Amcrest security cameras - Amcrest Hid info for 18 months

Is there a way to test if your cameras can access the internet? I've placed mine on a blacklist in the router... But I would like to see if that is effective. And yes in my blue iris system I do have Amcrest cams

Geofencing - assistance requested - schedule presets

Interesting. Thought it wouldn't work, cause it isn't. Using Openvpn . One plus 5t, Galaxy s8. Detects inside, but not outside. Gonna look into it again. I thought it couldn't work through VPN, so I had given up. Thanks.

SimpliSafe & Blue Iris (A Match made in Heaven)

Never had a need to... And i do agree, terrible documentation, forums are your friend with vera. Yet once i had it setup and visonic and bi apps installed, it is rock solid and needs no maintenance or rebooting. I have it on a ups, so it never even reboots.

    Recording events

Both of those you mentioned will increase sensitivity, make time as well. And/OR you can add a few seconds of prebuffer. So even if it detects mid picture, it will record from a few seconds prior (based on your specification) Use a combination of both. 2-3 seconds and the right sensitivity...

    Push notification delay

I don't know if this will answer the issue entirely, but I do know that when I had delays, I reordered the devices in "mobile devices" tab, in server settings to the top of the list, putting the most important to receive notification first. This solved my issues of delays

    BI, VPN and Unifi USG

I haven't setup my Vpn as yet.... However, once you are connected to your network via Vpn, you can use the app with local ipaddress of bi machine or use the browser with local address. No port should be required. Bi app doesn't use cloud service as far as I know.

    Camera cycle for custom groups

Sure you can. Each group HR and STORES can have its own cycle behavior. Simply select the group in the bottom left hand corner drop down list, of the main local interface, and use the setting icon to set the behavior of the group. You might also want to try this custom web interface instead...

    Blue Iris & Sophos utm

My current setup runs 9 cams, various brands, on a core i5 m430, 4gb ram laptop, at 23% - 50% depending on how much activity taking place. Changing out my machine to an Optiplex 3050 i5-7500 8gb ram tower. Is this a good choice? Was wondering if anyone is running Sophos utm in a VM, along with...

Notification to smart phone is delayed.

Check server settings and mobile devices tab. Try Putting the phone as number 1 device in the listing. The ranking makes a different. I had delays when an Ipad was placed before the cell phone, seems like there was a longer delay to send notification to the iPad, thus it further delayed the...

    Not BI related but...

I look at my router logs to see which devices by ip are communicating where. I don't want any cameras communicating directly, so they are blocked by MAC address and IP address via firewall rules in router, from using the Internet.

    Dual Wan vpn router recommendation

Both of the Asus handle dual wan and Vpn. Don't know why the dual wan feature is buried in spec sheets. Thanks for the recommendation. Can either of you tell me how the Asus handles failover? Is the network accessible remotely via wan2 in failover? How does it handle dns in failover?

    Dual Wan vpn router recommendation

Great options in the conversation. Peplink looks perfect, ldasilva, but price tag is about $100 more than i want to spend, and i have to add duties, taxes, ship, etc to my country. Untangle and others look superb, but more options than i can digest. Bug99, going to take a look at the Asus with...
