Blue Iris runs on Windows only. It's not free, but at $60 it's pretty cheap. It can run on a reasonably priced used or refirb PC.

I'd strongly recommend looking into Blue Iris. With a PC you can pick up for $200 and the $60 software, you'd have a very capable NVR with smarter motion triggers / AI motion triggers.

I've seen multiple recommendations to "pause" the system when exporting video. It sounds like a CPU usage during export issue to me.

Try turning that event off and back on again. Are the emails being sent using a gmail address? If so, there's a known issue authenticating to google's email servers.

Another thanks for this tool! I had two cameras setup and tested but then left them powered down for several months. When I hooked them up and tried logging back in, I couldn't get in with my password or the default. The reset tool worked perfectly on two Chinese serial cameras.
