Anybody try the new Hikvision ColorVu 8MP ?

Thank you! I guess it’s best to make some tweaks out there in the dark and see the results live.

Anybody try the new Hikvision ColorVu 8MP ?

The gain slider says it’s at 100 You stated that motion would be a blur at 1/12 shutter speed. Do you mean at night only? What do you suggest the setting to be at? You’ve also mentioned matching the frame rate and I frame interval. Suggestion for that? Thanks in advance, Jim.

Anybody try the new Hikvision ColorVu 8MP ?

I’ve never played with the shutter speed before. I just looked and the configuration screen says the following: Resolution 2560*1440 Frame rate 24 fps I frame interval 50 Exposure time 1/12 Day/night switch = Day Supplemental light = OFF There’s a bunch more settings as well but nothing that I...

^^^^^ I selected thumbnail up there. I have no idea why it is an obnoxious full screen view. Sorry.

For comparison. Here is a screen grab from my 4MP ColorVu at 3:00am this morning. There’s a bit of snow on the ground. But it was pouring rain. So it’s total cloud cover and there was zero artificial light sources. There are no street lights in my neighborhood and this is the back yard/back...

Anybody try the new Hikvision ColorVu 8MP ?

I never use the aux LED lighting on my pair of 4mp 247 color cameras. Ambient night light whether it be from the moon or nearby driveway lights is usually more than enough for a crisp image. I have one in the driveway and one in the backyard. The one pointing to the back yard has little to no...

Branded as LTS its listed as a CMIP3C82W-28MDA . I'm not sure what the actual Hikvision model number is though. Its a turret model. Not a bullet or a dome.

Anybody try the new Hikvision ColorVu 8MP ?

I have the 4MP version of their 24/7 color camera and it is pretty darn good at night time. Full color and very clear. I saw they released an 8mp version rated at .0005Lux. Also has a built in mic for audio. Anyone have any user experience with it? Thanks in advance, James

    EmpireTech's got Hikvision Cameras?! (IPC-T2347G-LU)

I have had one of these 4mp 24/7 colorvu cameras for a few months now. Got it directly from LTS in NJ. I got it to replace one of the cameras that got destroyed in the lightning strike. In my outside environment I am very pleased with the nighttime picture quality it has and i do not use any...

    Lightning strike issue

J Sigmo, thanks for taking the time with that tutorial. I read through it twice. I guess I just got very unlucky with that strike. Not sure if a rack mounted POE surge/lightning protector would have helped or not. Wouldn't have prevented the hit but possibly may have saved the NVR. The...

    Lightning strike issue

I looked over the roof and exterior of the house briefly yesterday as well as the area of those cameras in the attic. All looks normal. The soffit was slightly dislodged at one camera and there is black residue on the soffit where one was mounted but that is all I can see. I will have a closer...

    Lightning strike issue

Got the new NVR today. 5 of the 7 cameras are good. 2 got toasted. I popped one open and have never such electronic death before. It looks like charcoal. Looks like a fireball was in there. I killed the main power to the house and checked every breaker and each outlet that had a dead...

    Lightning strike issue

Yep, good advice. I will pull the cover off of the main panel and the sub panel across the other side of the basement and check ALL breaker connections and wiring. I will just kill the mains, verify no AC present and check them all. I pulled that one camera from its mount and it has a nasty...

    Lightning strike issue

If it didn’t hit the house it certainly within feet of it. I was home and saw the flash of light and the heard loud crack. My neighbor has some sort of lightning tracker program and called me on my cell to ask if i was OK because he was alerted to a strike either on my house or in my back...

    Lightning strike issue

So even though my NVR has an integrated 16 input POE, I should still run an external POE switch and feed that to my NVR for the added buffer/protection?

Ok so nothing more attractive about them to the lightning ......other than the cost of damage

    Lightning strike issue

Everything on the UPS/surge protectors in the homewere good(PC's televisions....). This morning I replaced the modem, router and MoCA adapter so I am back up for internet, wifi, TV and phone. The NVR did not take a power hit, it looks like it took a hit from a spike traveling on the ethernet...

    Lightning strike issue

Since the melted cable at my NVR was #4 input, I pulled that camera from the soffit outside and found similar horror. I yanked the camera right next to it and it has a clean cable connection. Hopefully I only lost 1 out of my 7 cameras .

    Lightning strike issue

Had a severe lightning strike at the house during the storm yesterday. Took out my cable modem, router, garage door opener and most importantly my LTS DVR. It appears that even though I had the thing plugged into a CyberPower ups/surge protector it took a hit from one of the cameras IP...

    Cameras facing each other?

What sort of recording system/NVR are you using? I did not know you could use a Dahua and a Hikvision in the same NVR.

    CyberPower CP850PFCLDC UPS/Surge protector users?

I see no issue running an extension cable like that off of the rear. I have some power packs plugged into the back of mine and they are large so they block the adjacent receptacle. A small extension cable would fix that issue. FYI..... going to put a scope on the output of this UPS to see how...

It has a real nice image. That Dahua a pretty serious camera as well! Listed as a starlight as well, very nice. Heavy thing also at around 9pounds. Interesting video though. He stops to fix the truck, but decides to have a smoke first, then pulls up just far enough to block part of your...
