Thanks alastairstevenson, a bit of homework for me to do. As a workaround, I am using an NFS share on my NAS at the moment as recording storage for the camera. Downside is that I can't see it in the NVR, nevertheless a workable solution in the short term.

Thanks for that. I need to figure out the technicalities of your solution, as I'm a newbee in using SSH or Telnet or TFTP...I may need to ask around and see if I can find someone who can assist me here locally, or find step by step instructions.
