Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

More testing showed that sometimes the camera auto focus takes so long that the focus commands arrive while the camera is still thinking. My scene has very few edges for the auto focus to work with in night mode. Adding more time between commands in the config should solve this issue.

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

After carefully checking all settings and restarting the service, mine is working fine. I was surprised to see that the focus numbers would be different day vs night even when focused on the same point. I think my first testing used the same numbers in both modes.

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

Yes. I just started using this, so I'm still walking through my config to see if I missed anything. Simulating sunrise and sunset works, but the cameras did not shift to day mode yesterday.

OpenALPR Tool - Save and Query CSV Exports

I just want to thank you for releasing this. I have a couple of small-time programs (so no formal code review, co-developers, change control, etc) at work that I share internally, so I know what's it is like to go from "it works for me" to "throw it over the wall and see what happens"...

    NetTime Setup with Firewalls

Well, it is certainly a practice. I have a professional aversion to the phrase "best practice" because it shuts down alternative discussions.

Is it Possible to Watch BI On TV ?

I bought a fire stick and Tiny Cam Pro. The fire stick is a tiny cheap computer that plugs into an HDMI port. I live Tiny Cam running all the time, so I just change my input source.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E AI Varifocal Bullet

Wrapping up my issue. The POE connector is definitely bad. Andy of course offered to cover it under warranty. The POE splitter works and it good enough for my needs, so I will keep the camera.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E AI Varifocal Bullet

With Andy's OK I opened the camera. The cables were all secure. I think I'll get a POE splitter and see if I can power it that way.

Tested with a couple of known good switches and cables. File this under "Rare, but it does happen." Thanks again.

Thanks again. A full reset did let me get into the camera with the Config Tool. Sadly I still cannot power up via POE. I had a chance to take the camera outside and I'm very impressed with the image quality in the dark. I'm sure Andy will get me a replacement shortly.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E AI Varifocal Bullet

Thanks for the recommendations. The camera powers on with an external supply, but will not power on via POE. Known good cable, known good POE+ and POE devices. I am able to get to the camera via the web interface (1.108), but the ConfigTool doesn't see it. I'm not too concerned about that, but...

Thanks Pinko. That confirms that I did need to be on a .1 sub net. 1.100 or 1.21, it would all be the same with a /24 network mask.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E AI Varifocal Bullet

Mine just arrive, but I think it may be DOA. So, to make sure I have not missed anything, can somebody check my work? With a wall wort (2.5A, 12V), I can hear the IR cut move and see the lens go through a self test. With POE I get no reaction. Tried a POE+ switch, no reaction. With the wall...

    Timeview Playback not working

I don't use this feature much, so I don't know when it stopped working. I'm currently on 4.4.6.2 x64. The timeline looks right - lots of indicators that things were recorded. Playback on individual clips works fine. When I double click on the timeline, the viewer switches to playback, showing...

Blue Iris Signal Loss at Start of Each New Clip

I had similar problems - often new clips would trigger moving/deleting clips. This process would drop some connections from a few HK cameras. My solution was to move from using a USB WiFi adapter to a wired network connection for the server. None of the cameras are using HK's Wifi, but a few of...

Help with Time Sync for my cameras

I'd guess that the windows firewall on the BI machine is blocking the time server. I don't see the point of running a time server on a local machine if you have an internet connection - cameras will drift regardless of the time sort (if they are going to drift at all). I use pool.ntp.org

Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I Email Attachments Not Working

700 emails "stuck" sounds like a network or routing problem - something was holding those ready to go. i doubt that the camera would hold them until it could deliver them, so I'd guess that the problem was at the ISP. Check the routing history of the messages to see when they passed through...

Should work. If you are using gmail and you have 2 factor turned on, you need an application specific password.

    2032 lens swap?

I want to put a longer lens in a 2032. What's the longest lens anyone has swapped into the 2032 (and still been able to focus of course)? 16mm would be good, 25mm would be great.

Hacking your network from an IP camera

It's an interesting attack vector. For most people on this forum, they are not protecting a high value target, so the risk is residual. On a forum like IPVM, the topic might gain more traction.
