    No video troubleshooting IPC-PFW8800-A180

Not sure if he sells it anymore, which would be unfortunate, because this camera is great. I still have it running and it works awesome. Opinion of this camera is that if you have a large area that needs overview it is a good solution to the other styles of pano camera that have the fisheye...

Other than the less than ideal mounting location(which affects, the infrared capabilities) the camera achieves the viewing angle I am looking for. Stay tuned for a more in depth review.

    No video troubleshooting IPC-PFW8800-A180

After receiving the camera from Andy today(IPC-PFW8800-A180), I proceeded to get it up on the test bench to get a pseudo review going. I have the camera powered up and I am in the camera making changes to bitrate etc, but I cannot get video going. Mind you this is plugged into a brand new poe+...

    IPC-HDW5231R-Z Questions

Can't confirm on weather, as I live in California, but i have seen some good reports from colder climates. Yes the cams can be mounted vertically. You can also change the orientation of the picture on Blue Iris. I think the 5231's are still the best for the money. The ultra starlight's however...

    New to the forum

I have had zero issues with the cameras in my signature. Dahua and Andy have been great so far. I do have arecont at work, and they are very nice, but they are not set up with BI

    Time lapse

So, OP, you used the mini wedge for this correct? How is it mounted, and how well has it held up to the weather? Also interested in what you used to do the time lapse. Is there a utility in Blue Iris?

Splitting 1 Cat5 to run 2 Poe cameras

Thank you! Just picked one up to use outside my house in a nema enclosure. I have been researching the best way to do this. Since I only wired up a limited amount of cable runs, this will help me add coverage in a couple spots.

    Hello from Florida

Welcome to the forum! And yes the Dahua Starlights are pretty amazing. You could always add a "Daytime" 4k camera for added resolution.

Need Help Finding A Powerful Tower PC For Blue Iris

I haven't tried on my blue iris rig, but would assume you would need upgraded graphics for 4k. I think you could get away with a gtx 1050 and still not pay too much to run the bigger cards. I am interested in your question, because if I upgrade to any 4k cameras, I might run into a similar...

Need Help Finding A Powerful Tower PC For Blue Iris

Baubas, I got my system from Dell as a scratch and dent at the outlet. It had the boot disk on the motherboard. You could buy a WD purple drive and hook up the two wires and you are in business. out the door was in the 600 range, but I got the i7 7700k.

Anyone use "Anydesk" instead of Teamviewer ?

Thanks for the tip, I tried to go headless, but it was just too much work(right now have an old tv barely good enough to view the feed). I know it should be easy, but there always seems to be something to keep me from connecting remotely. This may be the key.

Nice, good luck with the setup. I too need to learn all the functions of BI. For the most part it is very intuitive.

    Dahua has a new water proof junction box PFA130-E / PFA130E for Turrets ( PFA137, PFA139 )

Will have to pick up a few, thanks for the tip. Andy, you have these in stock?

    Turnkey server recommendations happily accepted...

I just bought a Dell 7050 Small form factor with an m.2 os boot drive, 17 7700K 8gb ram, got this at the dell outlet under scratch and dent and the thing was brand new. Doing this enabled me to drop in a WD purple 4tb and the overall cost was 800 ish but it runs my 6 cameras at 15% load on 25...

Hikvision vs dauha low light series camera $?

I do not have the Hikvision, but I would find it pretty challenging to be better than the Dahua starlight turrets from Andy. Unless you have a huge space to cover with the cameras, the ir should cover most everything. Caught a kitten in my garden at 3am this morning.

Of course, I just wanted a boot drive that would be more out of the way so that I am able to install a bigger storage drive like WD purple in the actual drive bay.

Well no, but that is the deal I was using. It turned out to be more of a problem because of the amount of people buying at the same time. I ended up talking to a really nice lady from Dell outlet and even saved more than I would have if I had gone through the normal channel. Not to mention, this...

So true how that always happens, good advice. What do you think about my solid state question? Better to go m.2 for the ssd or get another configuration to set up? Mat, thanks for the advice, I think it was you who initially got me ordering the dahua turrets(after nayr's reviews of course)...
