I'm sure this was asked and answered elsewhere, But I'm not seeing it. Can I use this process to update an RCA doorbell with currently running laview FW to EZVIZ FW, to disable the outdoorchime, then load hikvision to get ONVIF back, but might have a logo on the screen?

Is it possible to get a snapshot from a non onvif source? This is from 101 http://<IP Address>/onvif/snapshot.jpg but I ran into an issue (i think) related to having too many onvif streams going, and would like to get a snapshot for home automation, but maybe not from onvif

Ahh missed that. IFTTT would work. I dont know if I'd trust it as a chime replacement, but if I wanted to know if someone rang the doorbell while I was not home, that'd work just fine. Is the zigbee frequecy range for the UK different like zwave is?

The $5 sage sensor is a zigbee device and works quite well, if you have a zigbee controller. It's near real time in HA.

I'm running the docker container shared by @dfarkov to capture motion events to my Home Assistant server. It pulls the motion events using ONVIF. ONVIF also seems to work better for my NVR, but it does support rstp as well

I cannot seem to find the comment, but can someone point to the post where someone physically disabled the outdoor chime. I'm pretty sure i'll never get the option with laview firmware and I need the OVNIF support. I have no need for an outdoor ding dong. It's so loud.

No need to apologize. This is one of the things I've been wanting for such a long time. a native response to the built in motion sensor in HA. I've used other ways of doing motion analysis on the camera feed with decent success. I've used IFTTT with a little success as well. Never used blue...

I updated today from 1.01 (I think) to 1.03, and the container stopped getting motion events. No errors, just did not see them. I reverted to 1.02 and it works. No changes to my config file. Regardless, thanks so much for this, I've been wanting to get motion events from my doorbell for so long!

Has anyone with an older RCA (mid 2019 or earlier) door bell, used the latest ezviz firmware? and been able to turn off the chime? Additionally, has anyone then went back to the laview firmware or nelly with ONVIF support and the the chime stayed off.

Yes that did happen to me when I used this doorbell. Eventually it died, and I moved up to the newer 3mp version and it's been great and the power outage ring is also gone

That sure does, and yeah that sucks. I had considered upgrading to the ezviz myself specifically for the chime off support. Thanks for the info. I hope that other firmware offers this some day, but I'm not holding my breath

in Home assistant you can add the doorbell as a Device Tracker. There are several intergrations for tracking a device based on IP. I have an asus router, so I use that integration, but there are many other options. You can then set an automation to notify you if the device goes to not_home

I really want OVNIF, but also hate the outside ring. Anyone updated to the Firmware where you can turn it off, then turned it off, then loaded firmware that had OVNIF? Wonder if it would keep the setting kind of like the RCA logo removal? I have the RCA variant

I don't think this made any difference, at lease not to the doorbell ding dong sound. I just set it and tested. I think that's just for two way communication

It's close but not quite. I like the idea of Blue Iris, but I already have a NVR and it works fine. BI requires a decent PC, etc. I do have a an option to use docker and running zoneminder. All I really want is to expose the motion PIR motion Detection to my HA instance locally. Zoneminder...

Anyone on here managed to get the PIR alerts working with Home Assistant? I have an older LaView NVR. Been unable to get the NVR or home assistant to detect the PIR alerts. I get them in my App. I've seen a few posts about people getting it working, but nothing in the Home Assistant forums

Thanks, I was trying to move the date to a different area of the screen and see now that even though it moves in the configuration screen, it only will show in the bottom center of the screen. Do any of the firmwares have an option to turn off the outside ring?
